Definitely worth it for any South of Midnight fans. Amazing OST, which I believe to be one of the best, if not the best, I have heard in a game in a very long while.

Supermassive games beg to be replayed in order to be fully enjoyed, and this DLC adds replayability, even if only a bit. From that point of view, it is a great DLC.

It is hard to understand what this DLC really means, but I think it is just meant to unlock the game. If that’s the case, here’s my original The Quarry review:

Quarry is another Supermassive Games title that continues their style of storytelling, which I especially love to play in couch co-op with my girlfriend. Other than some random pixels appearing on the screen, the game ran really well both graphically and performance-wise, and looked great on my TV while playing in couch co-op, but, quoting my girlfriend: "The game starts boring and ends boring.". I loved the decision-making the most and felt like it mattered a lot, and the story felt very intriguing, especially the mystery behind everything, and I also loved the soundtrack, but it also felt like the game never really took itself seriously throughout the playthrough. The dialogue is too often cringe or boring, with forced humor and unnatural character reactions that rarely felt real, and my playthrough ended with too many plot holes and an unsatisfying ending. That being said, I still found it a really fun experience because I love this type of games, and Supermassive’s style, but if you’re not already a fan or have never played one before, this might not be the best place to start, in my opinion.

This is hands down one of the best games I have ever had the chance to play, and one of the most heartbreaking experiences I’ve had in gaming. The quality of the story, improved gameplay, cinematics, graphics, and character development is just mind-blowing. For an adventure narrative game to be this long is truly the cherry on top. I went through the whole spectrum of feelings toward so many characters, and the storytelling is so good that characters I once despised from the bottom of my heart I ended up caring about. I am also astonished by the optimization this PlayStation game has on PC at the time of playing, as well as the level of support it offers for features like ultrawide and advanced graphics settings, and I hope Sony will keep releasing their masterpieces to PC as soon as possible.

Until Dawn is one of the games, alongside The Last of Us, that I watched Let's Plays of on YouTube long ago, not owning a PS3 to play them myself. Today, we can all play them, the era of console exclusivity is finally, slowly but surely, coming to an end, and we should all be grateful for it. Aside from a few minor performance issues and some visual glitches, this remake is just perfect. It is exactly the type of game I love, with a big mystery, a thrilling story, well-developed characters, beautiful cinematics, and, last but not least, really great choice options. You can feel the Supermassive Games touch in it, even though it was remade by Ballistic Moon, and I can only hope a sequel is in the works (without exclusivity this time), and if you own a Dualsense, I highly recommend playing with it, because its features add a huge layer of immersion, especially the adaptive triggers when making important choices.

It is hard to beat PlayStation exclusives, but I did not expect this much high quality, even though I know this is one of the best video games out there to date. There is nothing less than a masterpiece here, from character development, acting, and story to cinematics, gameplay, and immersion. Everything is done just right, and while they could have just thrown the game on PC and been done with it, I have rarely experienced a "port" of this caliber, because my experience was flawless. With perfect optimization, full ultrawide support (including in cutscenes), and no bugs at all, I hope other games will take note. Any fan of narrative games must experience this masterpiece.

The t-shirt is nice, but it does not justify its price.

They couldn’t use Chloe’s original VA back then, and it still feels like a missed opportunity not to bring her back now in the remaster to fix what the original lacked. The visuals are clearly improved, but I ran into issues I didn’t have in the original, both audio and graphical. Still, as a bundle with the remaster of the first game, it’s the better deal. Replaying Before the Storm only made me appreciate it more. With Chloe’s beautiful, dramatic past, she remains one of my favorite characters, and this remaster was the perfect excuse to revisit the prologue of Life is Strange and see her again.
