Sniper Elite: Zombie Army is the German twin brother nobody wanted. If you ended up here, you're either German or have a German IP. This is the German version of the game Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army[steamdb.info]. The difference between the two versions is, first, aesthetic: visual references to the Nazis have been removed (the same goes for the name of the game). Second, only people owning this version can connect and play with you online. I do not want to go and judge the censorship because I am sick of it. It is absurd and ridiculous that Germany does not see games as a form of art in 2023 and imposes censorship upon them. What I want to judge is Rebellion's idea of making people who own this version not be able to play with people who own the uncensored version. That made this game's lifespan really, really short and a huge struggle for anyone to find players to play with. Also, for some reason, the game did not want to load after the Rebellion logo while I was offline. It might just be that this game is not playable without an internet connection, but I am not sure.

So from the start, you have to know that you have a 0.000001% chance to get to play online without first searching online for players who own the game in their library and beg them to play with you. There is a way, though, and that's its remaster. There is a remaster for this game present in the Zombie Army Trilogy. There, although the game is still censored if you play from Germany, you are able to play with players who do not have the game censored. What a revolutionary idea, Rebellion, congrats! -.- So, although I do prefer the originals for some reasons (check my Zombie Army Trilogy review), the remaster is the best for you to experience the game online.

But let's talk about the game itself. I just love it. It is one of those games that do not try to be something it is not. What is Zombie Army? Zombie Army is a mindless zombie-killing video game, where 95% of the time you headshot zombies. What this game requires to be great is to feel satisfying. And that it is. Headshotting zombies is so satisfying in this game. I have not yet played the original Sniper Elite series, but here the weapons are really fun. Obviously, especially the snipers. It never stops being fun killing with them. On top of it, there are the well-known bullet slow motion moments which look and feel amazing, especially in singleplayer where they happen way more often and more complex.

For achievement hunters: In a world where this game had an active online player base, all 26 achievements are doable and not that bad. But that is a utopia. If you want to do the co-op achievements that require 4 players, you either need to bring your own 3 players with you or do what I did. What did I do to perfect this game? I added e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y that has written on the Steam forums that they're looking for players to play with. That means players that even forgot they owned this game today. Players that wrote on the forums even in 2014-2015 (imagine that people had to ask on forums for players to play with 1/2 years after the launch). I had to ask every person in PM if he would like to do the achievements with me. After a huge struggle, I somehow managed to find 3 awesome guys to do the achievements with. After the 4 co-op achievements, I still had some big hours of grinding to do to be able to perfect the game. Grinding that would have been way easier if the game had, as I said, an active online player base.

The game lacks complexity and zombie variations, but I think it does great the way it is. I have beaten the game in 2023, and I have to say, it aged really well. It does not feel 10 years old. If you're looking for a great single-player mindless zombie-killing simulator, go for it. Or, go find yourself 3 more guys and buy the game together. I don't think you'll regret it. But if you don't have friends or just want to directly jump into online gameplay, go for the remaster instead.

A great package with the great OST of Quantum Break. I can only find a couple I would add to my playlist, but it still is worth it. In-game, each and every title of this OST rocks.

What an amazing game! It boasts a beautiful story with exceptional performances from actors like Aidan Gillen, whom I adore. The story is truly captivating and intriguing, complemented by smooth and engaging gameplay, a clever incorporation of a TV series concept, and fantastic graphics.

This game offers a compelling story, which is what we've come to expect from Remedy. It keeps you on your toes and eagerly anticipating each scene. The time-travel theme is expertly executed, although, given the complexity of time-travel, it's advisable not to delve too deeply into the physics or plausibility of the concepts. Adding to the allure of the story is the outstanding performances of well-known actors, impeccably cast. I was particularly eager to witness Littlefinger's performance - what an amazing actor! The character development and their individual narratives, which are numerous and well-crafted, are simply brilliant.

The game also features TV series segments after each act. I've heard mixed opinions about these, and while I wasn't initially captivated during the first half of the first episode, I soon found myself eagerly anticipating each act to see how the TV series will tie into the game's storyline. The way these segments connect with the game's narrative is a brilliant idea from Remedy. The story leaves room for a potential sequel, and although it may seem unlikely, we ARE getting an Alan Wake 2 after so many years, so who knows?

Furthermore, the game offers plenty of reading material to discover while exploring. Although optional, to truly grasp and immerse oneself in the story, I found it essential to read everything found. Some of these texts are quite lengthy, and while I personally enjoyed them, I acknowledge that they might not be everyone's cup of tea. At times, even for me, it felt a bit overwhelming, but enriching the game's universe through such content is never a bad idea.

In terms of gameplay and visuals, Quantum Break is a visual masterpiece. Initially, I thought the shooting segments were infrequent, but over time, I came to appreciate the well-balanced mix of exploration, storytelling, and combat. The animations, cinematics, and graphics are exceptionally well-crafted, creating an immersive experience. Combat is engaging, satisfying, and visually stunning, thanks to the various abilities and slow-motion moments. However, some interaction animations, such as the jump animation, felt a bit awkward and cringeworthy at first. You do eventually get used to them, but they still appear odd in their execution.

I've heard that Quantum Break was an ambitious project in its time, which led to glitches, bugs, and performance issues. In my experience in 2023, the game ran smoothly, with only occasional stuttering issues towards the end of the last act, and one crash, although I'm not entirely certain whether it was due to the game or my PC. Therefore, I wouldn't consider performance issues a concern. The only glitchy thing worth noting is the way the NPCs walk next to you at times, zigzagging. Really weird.

For achievement hunters: the game has 42 achievements. The biggest challenge in this achievement hunt is beating the game on hard difficulty for the achievement "Time Lord". Not even that is that hard though. The only hard part I found to be the final fight in the last act, where I died multiple times before managing to beat it.

Overall, Quantum Break was an incredible experience, and I absolutely loved it. Despite initial concerns surrounding this title, I'm delighted I decided to give it a chance because it's yet another exceptionally well-executed Remedy game in their portfolio.

Really OST. If Trine had one thing really well made, that surely is its OST.

The great weird OST of one of the weirdest games out there!

The issue with the DLC is though, the fact that it is not a real Soundtrack DLC, but a normal one. So you need to install the game to get access to it. (inside the main folder, in a subfolder called "Soundtrack")

I never found the OST of Half-Life as beautiful as most do, but it still is good and quite the nostalgic thing to hear it after beating the game such a long time ago.
