Is there a mod to make the main character STFU?
I am sick to death of hearing her whine about sorry she is about having to kill people who are trying to overthrow her country and murder her family.

One of the best Hack-n-slash ARPG's out there.
Destructable enviromentals, smooth as butter gameplay.
Works well with KB&Mouse or Controller.
Voiced by the voice actor who plays Geralt in "The Witcher" game series.
A ton of content and replayability.

Short Review:
========================
An old school "cop done wrong" mystery.
Part horror, part police work.
Creepy, atmospheric and great melee fun.

More Detailed:
========================

STORY
Condemned: Criminal Origins (2005), developed by Monolith Productions, is a cult classic psychological horror FPS that remains a compelling experience on PC, despite its age.
You step into the shoes of Ethan Thomas, an FBI agent with the Serial Crimes Unit, tasked with tracking a serial killer in the decrepit, crime-ridden underbelly of Metro City.
What begins as a gritty crime thriller evolves into a chilling blend of psychological horror and supernatural mystery, setting it apart from typical FPS titles of its era.

Environment
The game’s greatest strength is its atmosphere.
Metro City’s abandoned buildings, dank sewers, and shadowy alleys are rendered with a grim, almost tactile detail that immerses you in a world teetering on collapse.

The sound design—creaking floors, distant screams, and an unsettling ambient score—amplifies the tension, making every corner feel like a potential ambush. This oppressive mood is paired with a narrative that, while not overly complex, keeps you hooked through Ethan’s descent into paranoia and the eerie supernatural elements that gradually unfold.

Gameplay
Gameplay is where Condemned truly shines and occasionally stumbles.
The melee combat is visceral and innovative, emphasizing close-quarters brawling with improvised weapons like lead pipes, crowbars, or even a severed arm.
The weighty, deliberate feel of each swing makes encounters intense, and the scarcity of firearms forces you to rely on strategy and environmental awareness.
A basic forensic investigation system—using tools like UV lights to track evidence—adds variety, though it’s simplistic by modern standards.
However, enemy AI can be inconsistent, sometimes behaving unpredictably or getting stuck, which breaks immersion.
The shooting mechanics, while functional, feel secondary to the melee focus and lack precision.

Graphics
Graphically, the game shows its age in 2025.
Textures and character models are rough compared to modern titles, but the art direction and lighting still create a convincingly grim atmosphere.
On PC, performance is generally smooth on modern systems, though some players may need to tweak compatibility settings to address minor issues like resolution scaling or control responsiveness.
The controls themselves are intuitive but can feel clunky, particularly during fast-paced combat sequences, and the absence of modern quality-of-life features like customizable keybindings may frustrate some.

Final Word
Condemned: Criminal Origins is a bold, unsettling experience that blends horror, action, and psychological depth.
Its innovative melee combat and suffocating atmosphere outweigh its dated visuals and occasional technical hiccups.
For fans of horror games or those seeking a unique FPS, it’s a must-play that still resonates, even if it doesn’t match the polish of contemporary titles.

The best Read Dead Redemption experience.
Better than RDR2.
The story, the dialogue, is so much more realistic.
Something got lost in RDR2.
Only thing RDR2 does better is graphics, but this is good enough.
CONS:
The mission format can be a bit grindy.
Some glitches or bugs remain.
Best Old West game bar none.

I think the Devs hate police officers.
Simply put, out of 11 cops on a shift, I have 4 or 5 call in a day because they are either drunk or just don't want to work with another cop.
They are constantly afraid to go on calls and whine about the most piteful things.
Refunded due to the obvious anti-police bias they actually seem to have.

Love the idea of a top down tactical police game BUT...
The controls are to clunky.
The response time between what you click to do and how long it takes your character to do it is too long.
My AI partner killed 2 civilians in one level because suspect was down the hall from civvy.
Needs either a turn based approach or needs to seriously up the response animations to the commands.
Microseconds count in these situations and clunky controls or dumb AI just takes away any realism from it.

A great twin-stick shooter for when you want mindless violence.
The story is cliche and garbage but the shoot-em up parts are pretty good.

How in the world did this game get so many good ratings?
I get that's free, but that never stopped people before from honestly rating game.
It's super simple, the gameplay and controls feels like it's made for a very small child, yet the themes, language and art suggest it's tongue in cheek for older kids or adults.
It's literally running around the map until you cover everything with your "nastyness"
Nothing more.
Can someone explain to me what the ratings are from?

Slow to start, advisors can be annoying sending you information every 2 seconds.
Wish game would allow game to stay paused as long as you wish, however it seems to unpause itself after awhile.
If it auto-paused on demand at say a port, this help a lot.
Kind of boring at first, but maybe with time and learning all the ins-and outs it gets more exciting?
Overall, a ship trading management type game at its heart.
