Amazing soundtrack, really nice feeling movement, enough complexity in the weapons and addons to be interesting, but not enough to detract from the core gameplay of progressing the story and killing baddies.

soundtrack goes unequivocally hard. railgun gameplay is fun. don't count on matchmaking though - party up with some friends and have fun

thirst trap character design cannot make up for actually horrible story and weird dialogue. The progression loop actually doesn't seem too bad and there's plenty of ways for your alt characters to catch up so you can experiment with different classes.

But to grind just to unlock more (non-optional) bad story? count me out

Other roguelike games pale in comparison - playing with friends is a must. the new DLC goes hard

amazing music + character design/ability design. the hardest mode still provides a healthy challenge, and modding opens up even more ways to play.

(I highly recommend r2modman if you decide to try modding.)

Worth it if you're a fan of Apex to get some lore and see stuff you're familiar with already. Make sure to get it on a sale; the campaign is very short and the multiplayer (if there are people even still queueing for it) doesn't work without modding to avoid crashing.

It honestly isn't that bad, but it feels like too much grinding for not enough story payoff, dialogue, or interesting character development for the time i spend grinding. I spent too much time making food, chopping logs and crushing rocks. This could relate to my own inability to get into the "make a little homestead" genre.

This is the land of the dead. I don't want to do any of that stuff. It seems that that actual story concept takes a backseat in place of making a boat full of the amenities of a small village.

+ mediocre humour + no interesting side characters. Why did they all have to look the same? :(
