Sega cheated us once again and turend the promised "unified map" into a small pathetic version of it.

Don't buy this if you wanted to have a proper grand campaign.

to sum it up: not really worth the price.

this dlc is basically alien rulers on steroids. they made a bunch of new content- new classes, new bosses, new strategy layer features, and stuffed it into xcom without really thinking about how this whole thing fits together with old content. chosen and zombies feel out of place. new classes offer you basically the same things as old classes. geoscape mechanics are all over the place and feel like blinkenlichten instead of actual mechanics(like say lw2 forcelevels and havens).

overall this expansion is around 3 times weaker than long war. which isn't something you expect from original developers for this price. hell, even sparks addon felt more "proper" than this. oh well, at least they optimised the game.

it's actually "pain world".

so the game has great atmospere, absolutely huge world with tons of content and amazing, ground-breaking ai, and overall is a breakthrough for platformer genre...

BUT it's hard as chewing on granite. it is basically dark souls made harder and with 0 narration. if you aren't a masochist who enjoys games like "i wanna be the guy" or someone who has enough reaction and wit to play touhou games on lunatic you WILL hate this game, eventually.

but even if you drop it after first few zones it's still worth the money.

this game is no xcom but it is still pretty entertaining.

plus it has animee girls.

which in my book is "10/10, it's ok."

game looks really promising on the first few hours of play, but then you realise that it's nothing but a bugged, unfun grindfest.

i wish i could refund this trash.

on the whole game's honestly better than enemy unknown.

cons include weaker sound and enemy design- game's no longer a horror like the original(both ufo defence and eu) was, and it no longer has the 90's conspiracy movie vibe.
gameplay is great, but it would've been even better is they stuck to the ufo defence- larger squads, less restrictive gameplay(♥♥♥♥ these timers, seriously. they only ruin fun and do not prevent overwatch abuse in any way), disposable soldiers(try losing your sniper colonel on ironman). hopefuly there will be a ufo defence overhaul mod.

overpriced trash riding on the aftereffects of enemy within.

these mecs are pretty meh.

original mecs were better looking and better voiced, so you wanted to use them even though class was and still is gimped.
