[Disclaimer: Game just entered Early Access, this review should be updated as the game itself updates]

Glyphica fits a weird niche of both typing and your standard roguelite, often emulated in bullet hell games like Vampire Survivors, except you're a set turret in the middle. It definitely scratches an itch I didn't know I needed until I stumbled across the original demo.

At the moment the game is still updating. Comparatively to the demo, the main changes have been the addition of trials/boss fights, as well as the addition of one new main weapon (heat blast). That and new enemy types have been added including the hidden words, and new animation attacks for ranged enemies. I'd say this is a game to keep your eye on, it has a lot of potential with its updates for new weapons and augments, thus I'm giving it a recommendation for its unique gameplay, and for the niche that is so readily occupies.

In a sea of games that have a similar gameplay loop, Void Scrappers sticks out due to its shield system being a particularly tougher nut to crack. Instead of health like Vampire Survivors, players have shield points, meaning they can at most get hit 4 times in a row before sinking, making this a tougher entry into this genre of games.

It might not have the same diversity seen in other similar games, but Void Scrappers has a very unique aesthetic, and a new spin on familiar gameplay. Worth giving it a shot if you're down for a challenge with enemy avoidance, and some pretty satisfying laser and bullet action

For all the Mac users who thought that i5 meant that they could play it, apparently no. All you get is a white screen and it's been an ongoing issue if you refer to the discussion pages. Game itself is pretty cool (used GeForce NOW), really beautiful environments, atmospheric stuff really works out for me. Crafting system is daunting but also seems straightforward enough that it needs some time to tinker with and get used to.

For the purposes of native Mac gaming, going to have to give the thumbs-down to this game, cause why is the menu and play button there if everything else on the screen (when loaded in) pure white?

It's easy to go into this and think it's exactly like Vampire Survivors, which was my mindset going into this game. I think, however, 20 minutes till dawn is actually harder than VS, with health being more limited and not number based (like VS). The formula is pretty similar, kill monsters, get xp, unlock and upgrade. What sets it apart is the more distinctive upgrades that have 4 upgrade options, and is less like VS where you can only unlock its full potential with an evolution. 20 Minutes Till Dawn is able to set itself apart, not as another game that is similar to VS, but because the difficulty curve to get the most out of each run is a gradual one that goes layer by layer, character by character, weapon by weapon.

Sure, I only played for 29 minutes, but when you're paying for a game that embraces the absolute silliness of its characters and circumstances, it's a good, and enjoyable 29 minutes. Frog detective for the win!

This is easier than Apex, I just squat and bop people in the head :)

Edit (for CS2):
As much as I love the 115 hours of CS:GO, it hurts me that CS2 has decided not to have any Mac support at launch. I'm hoping Valve brings back the support for their previous platforms (Mac, Linux etc.) because CS is a great game, and CS2 looks amazing. For those who haven't gotten into CS yet, that's what you need to know going into it.

I thought Transistor (Supergiant Games) was short and sweet, but nope GRIS wins that title. The unique thing about this game is just how beautiful it is, the water colour look with calming and soothing music. Not only that, but big props to the running themes of grieving, depression and, ultimately, positivity. As someone who liked Spiritfarer's themes on relationships and death, this was exactly up my alley.

Got gifted this game and I'm really glad to have been gifted this, it is one heck of a game and I only wish that it could have been longer.

This game is truly short and sweet. For someone like me who's played through a few similar games before, 3 hours was sufficient enough to 100% all the achievements.

It's a cutesey game with very epic art and a nice selection of hats. The basis of it is kind of simple, but there is a certain enjoyment in just roaming around and doing side quests and maybe getting a nice hat. The boss fights aren't too hard, and the addition of the Sunset Railway is a good way to test out your skills in combat.

Short, simple, and enjoyable. Just kinda here for the vibes of a turnip boy who commits tax evasion

For the King is one of those games that seem daunting at first, but quickly becomes a satisfying round of combat, loot and upgrading your character. However it isn't the best single player experience, with 3 characters that divide your attention in an almost D&D like model. This game is best played with friends, helping each other to learn, loot and coordinate across the board. For me it definitely beats playing it on my own, and adds overall value to the game.

While the systems and stats are hard to get a grasp on at first, much of the game's internal systems are quite straight forward. Buffing up certain stats and making tradeoffs with gear all appeal to the idea of management and min-maxing your adventure RPG get up. Different classes and gear unlocks also keep the campaign fresh, making sure that the endgame will never quite feel the same across campaigns.

In a nutshell, pretty fun and best played with friends
