The game is a lot of fun, the story is decent enough so far. The pacing could use some work, I'm not a fan of the scenes where you're mounted and traveling at a slow pace while everyone is just talking, but it's not a huge deal.

There's been several instances where the character seems to miss a spot that is supposed to trigger a cutscene during these, and just kept walking past it going in a straight line until they hit a wall. Then after 30 seconds or so, they'll turn around and slow walk back to the trigger point and start the cutscene.

But the BIGGEST issue I have with the game is how a lot of the time when I load into an area, all the characters look like they're from N64 games for another 30-60 seconds before they render all the way. It wrecks any kind of immersion, and ruins what might be a more serious moment in an in-engine cinematic by turning everyone into low-poly blocks with googly eyes and hair loss issues. Sometimes it doesn't go that far, and they just don't render textures, which isn't as bad, but still not great.

The gameplay is fun, it's my first MH game and I'm really enjoying fighting the monsters and teaming up with my friends. Cutting off a tail or tentacle is super satisfying, and the Power Clashes feel really epic and awesome. Overall, I love the game, and I'm not about to stop playing anytime soon. Part of me is really looking forward to being finished with the main story so I can ignore the rendering issues more.
