Cocoon is a really fantastic puzzle game.
7/10

The art style is beautiful.
Each world has its own theme and each are just as captivating as the last.
Minor eye candies around the levels really help to pull the the environments together.

Animations are quick and satisfying.

One of my favorite things about this game is the way this game does not TELL you anything. Not once does the game TELL you what to do.
Cocoon does an incredible job SHOWING the player how they are able to use the tools they've been given, and leaving the rest up to the player to figure it out.

The puzzles start simple and they build on previous mechanics expertly well.
(The later puzzles might have you scratching your head, but just remember to try stuff even if you think it wont lead anywhere.)
There are a few boss fights, but the combat is not super exhilarating. (The boss fights are more like fast-paced puzzles.)

I beat the entire game in about 4 hours, though I haven't unlocked all of the steam achievements.
(Some of the Moon Ancestors are pretty well hidden, and there doesn't seem to be any option for backtracking. If you intend to 100% the game- it looks like you'll need to be sure to find each Moon Ancestor as soon as you have the option.)

I bought the game for $25, and I'd say that it isn't quite worth that price.
Cocoon is a VERY Well put together game, but I would probably only recommend picking it up if it goes on sale to bring it under $15-$20.

I didn't encounter any bugs on my play-through.

Wish the game was longer. (I also wish backtracking to pick up missed Moon Ancestors was an option.)
There is definitely TONS of rooms for more complex puzzles in an expansion or sequel of some sort.
Solid 7/10.

The gameplay is pretty fun for me.
I am a massive roguelike fan, and this is a fairly new take on the genre.
In most roguelike games you are rewarded for being as fast and as mobile as possible.
This game encourages backtracking and playing defensively in one place, while still keeping the feel of progression.

I have played for a few hours now, and I have a couple small complaints about the game.
If these were resolved I would be much more inclined to recommend this game to others.

The allied AI could definitely be improved.
Sometimes I just want my allies to defend the main objective, but the only command options are to have them stay still or follow me.
Allies never seem to use their ultimate abilities. (This is probably to encourage swapping to control that character, but it would still be nice to have a toggle that would allow them to use their ults when available.)

The voicelines are VERY annoying with how often they are played.
Every time a new room is opened- each character in your party has maybe 3 or 4 lines that they might say.
They all speak, every time. Please tone this down.

There is one enemy that goes completely invisible/untargetable and will walk to the main objective to damage it, and I haven't been able to find any counterplay to this.
This should really be changed.

P.S. (Politics?)
Its annoying when companies shoehorn political jabs into their games.
The Comrade character calling the enemy "capitalst dogs" after every wave feels like some MAJOR virtue signaling.
If we really get down to specifics- the hordes of enemies trying to kill you are probably anything BUT capitalist.
They're a bunch of bugs and robots swarming you. Doesn't sound very capitalist to me.

It might just be a part of his character or something. I'm really not sure why the developers feel like this would enhance the game in any way, unless it's purely just to appeal to liberals that play? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
