Early Access Review
Combat is garbage and inconsistent. I can see why now that they say that it's not a primary focus in the next game that will follow the same method. Movement is even worse, and feels like i'm an actual tank despite being literally naked, I can't even.

one of the tips in the arena practice says "AI make human mistakes" Which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, maybe the undead do in the dungeon, but in the arena they're absolutely perfect with being able to keep you at the perfect range for the sweet spot, and have almost perfect defence too, constantly able to keep themselves out of your range. It's just not fun to play, especially if you just want some Dungeon Crawler to play casually, this is not for you.

I think there's a difference between the AI in dungeon and Arena too. the Wiki says that the Undead on level 1 are the "inept" level A.I but they don't really try to defend themselves against incoming swings like the Inept level AI in the Arena. They kind of just swing wildly and get in your personal space, so there's definitely a Difference in their AI here. I don't know, not really significant but I felt like you should know.

"Don't just flail around" wait until you see one of the AI with a cleaver, it's like it doesn't let go of the mouse button, it feels incredibly.. cheaty?

You have to rely on EXP to get skills which is extremely, painfully slow. I personally don't even see much point to the "global experience" given that the dungeon is static, and the only thing that changes is whats inside containers.

honestly the only, good good thing about this game is the music, atmosphere and the sounds. The sounds when you run in leather creaks and squeaks, Plate-armour is clanky and meaty, and the sound of a warhammer crushing a skeletons skull is satisfying, but yeah, that's about it. Everything else is (as you'd expect; it's early access) unfinished, clunky, and kinda boring and unfulfilling.

The AI does indeed make "human" mistakes sometimes, they can miscalculate the distance, get tricked by your feints, overstep, attack when they should defend (and vice versa) and so on. Yea the early undead in the dungeon dont defend themselves and attack more wildly, but youll face enemies later in game that do have more proper combat skills like the Ai you face in the arena.

The cleaver is indeed a very dangerous weapon to face early on since you got little to no armor, but enemies that attack often/fast also leaves themselves more often open to be counter attacked which makes them relatively easy to deal with when you started to master the combat
