The most astonishingly beautiful open world game right now, beautiful storyline, unique characters, polished gameplay, attention to details, everything just set up for a perfect game, but nothing in life is perfect, and neither is Red Dead 2

The main problem can be explained in hours but i'll try to be short, in RD2 you have 2 roads, the storyline road and the open world road, both are beautiful, unique and filled with details, but the problem is you never get those roads colliding with each other, you have freedom to do whatever you want in the open world road, but in the storyline road you need to respect the stop sign and do as the game tells you to, no freedom at all in how you want to approach the missions, you need to do as daddy rockstar says or baby will be punished with mission failed.

This game presents itself as this super realistic experience, where you are free to do whatever you want, but you really get pushed out of that feeling when cops spawn in the middle of nowhere, Arthur puts his guns back in the horse for no reason, camp doesnt really need your donations, honor system doesnt matter in history (outside of cutscenes and ending) etc, also you're not really free to do whatever you want, you can't even pull out your gun inside a store, or check which guns you have in camp, random encounters are special things happening TO you, and you very rarely are the one creating them.

Red dead 2 is an improvement on the Rockstar System, but the big problems are still there

Another problem that i have but couldn't be fixed since this is a prequel, is that you have no power in how the story goes, there are clips on youtube showing that you could have killed Micah as Arthur, but when you did that... taDam! Mission Failed. (or could but this game would have came out in 2025)

Trailing sections are big on this game, and it's super boring, thankfully the dialogues are perfect and the world is mesmerizing so it doesn't bother you as much as it should. Ppl are mad at the cover system but idc really i just press m3 and destroy everyone

Some might say the story in this game is perfect but i disagree, the characters are perfect, and that creates a story that doesn't need to be perfect, it's a real, less scripted story, that's not perfect like a movie would be, but it's the lives of these people that you rode, robbed, laughed, cried and drinked with that it's being told, and that's why it matters so much, and that's why people are so invested in this game.

I will stop myself from writing a whole book about this game and finish with this: Red Dead is the closest thing we have to a perfect Rockstar Game, and we might just have that when GTA VI comes out, they have a big problem to fix, but it's doable... specially having that rockstar learns more and more after each release.
