This will probably be a cult classic if it isn't one already. Fans of Prototype, Siren, and Gravity Rush might have something here they'll really enjoy. I know I did.

You play as a Spirit who can possess nearby people, imbue with blood magic powers, and go hunting for the titular slitterheads in the streets of 1990s Kowloon. It's sleazy, it's gross, it's bizarre, it's morbidly funny and I loved every second of it, warts and all. It's the kind of crazy ass unhinged ♥♥♥♥ I've been looking for and I think more people would enjoy.

At worst, Slitterhead is like a finger pointing to the moon telling us it'll take us there. If you're just looking at the finger, you don't get it. There's lots of crazy ideas but they totally work or at least you can see that they would work even better if Bokeh had a higher budget.

At one point, the industry used blockbusters as tentpoles to create smaller, weirder ♥♥♥♥ to see what stuck. Slitterhead totally fits in that category so it feels old-school in that it is a mid-budget experimental title with an uncompromising creative vision. Now it's all tentpoles, it seems.

I hope Slitterhead finds a sizable enough audience to keep Bokeh afloat and to feel encouraged that they can continue making some cool ♥♥♥♥. I understand that the mainstream press weren't too receptive to this game, but it wasn't made for them and is only interested in finding its own audience and banking that it's big enough to see more of this kind of stuff.

Buy Slitterhead not because you're voting with your wallet but because Slitterhead is a fun and creative game that's a breath of fresh air.

Well worth the money I spent.
