game itself is fantastic

however; with every step forwards, ags takes two steps backwards.

the game is unfortunately a bug infested mess. players can wipe the enemy factions progress in taking over a territory by changing their company name, items getting removed that people spent time and effort in, countless duping bugs crashing the economy, weapon damage bugs and exploits making certain weapons overpowered (and reproducing these bugs is about as easy as punching in a cheat code in San Andreas, just press this and this while doing this and suddenly your weapon deals 4x damage, or applies damage over time/on hit effects on every swing/shot).

they have made the end game content a chore, making casual players feel even more left behind. i'm speaking for the casual players because i was unfortunate enough to nolife my way to the end game during the first week.

most end game elite zones are now near impossible to beat. you'd imagine bringing a 100 people would make the job easier, but due to the difficulty that scales from the amount of nearby players, you're going to find yourself and the 99 others spending a good 15 minutes beating up a boss that isn't even that "big" or "dangerous".

also, they nerfed the end game loot tables and chests, because what's a better end game reward or a boss drop than a single potion or 5 iron arrows. ags holds firm on these changes.

world PvP is fun, but not rewarding at all. you lose durability on all your gear the more die and/or use it, but rewards from participating in PvP are non existant. you're doing it for fun, maybe get an occasional drop here and there (potion, a piece of gear that you're going to salvage anyways because it sucks), but most of the time you'll find yourself PAYING GOLD and repair parts to PvP.

outpost rush is the only "fun" PvP experience because i don't even want to get started with wars and how bad they are. outpost rush is a game mode you can literally play for free, and gain money and azoth for doing so. this, however, appears to be the only thing left in this game that's keeping people entertained. this game mode is level 60 locked, so if you're planning on getting this game, good luck getting there because it's only going to get harder.

i love the game, but due to the latest changes, i find myself logging in, standing around for 10 minutes and logging out. can't farm my watermark up because the content is too hard to solo anymore, can't bring a zerg or the loot tables get so scuffed i never get a meaningful drop anymore.

to anyone thinking; "wow, end game content is hard? shocking." needs to go to Myrkgard with "Recommended 5" people and tell me it was a pleasant experience.

or even better, loot 50 elite chests and all you get are green T4 weaponry and iron arrows. they decided removing armour from chest drops was also a great idea.

revert the patch. make end game content what it used to be, because more and more players (especially solo players) are quitting the game because of this poor decision.

end game should be fun and rewarding with the right amount of grind. currently, end game is literally running around in Myrkgard with a laggy mess of a zerg, looting chests to get a couple of obsidian sandpaper and solvent, praying nobody pulls the tall sword wielding guys into your zerg because once you see him charging in, he's not only near impossible to kill due to 100 players in the area, he will also one shot everyone in one charge attack. after your zerg is slowly losing players because people just can't be arsed anymore, you too, decide to return to the settlement of choice and proceed undercutting eachother with the rest of the people returning from the pathetic fest they dare to call end game, getting poor returns from all of your efforts.

this has turned the end game content into a ridiculous stealth mission, trying to loot stuff to get something that feels like it isn't even there. the feeling of progression in this game has halted since patch 1.1.

this game was in a better state on launch day than what it is now. i cannot recommend anyone to even bother getting into this game at this point.

as long as the players including myself would rather chew glass than play end game content, my review stays negative.

Do not trust all the negative reviews, especially from people that have under 2 hours of play. It's worth your time and money.

Steam shouldn't allow people with under 20 hours of play to review a game, as most of the negative reviews just reek of people not even taking their time to do the tutorial or learn the game.

Don't complain about the assassinations when you're literally offering your ass to the enemy like a cheap hooker.

If you don't like reading, I rate this game 10/10.

If you like reading, here's some stuff about the game.

Valheim is a Viking RPG. You can play this game solo, or you can play it with friends. It's up to you. You can make your world joinable by friends at any time.

Valheim is all about the journey. You start off with basically nothing, and your goal is to progress through different stages of the game. You've got many different biomes, that have their own bosses to kill, and killing the bosses is (more or less) tied to your progression.

I found myself losing the track of time playing this game, there's so much to do in the vast randomly generated world. You start off by getting the most basic materials like wood and stone to build your first weapons and shelter. You can pick up different berries, mushrooms, or cook meat to eat. Eating increases your stamina and health, but the effects gradually wear off over time. The better foods you eat, the longer you're effected by the food buffs.

Picking up new materials unlock new crafting recipes from weapons to armor, from foods to building pieces.

Your first house might turn out pretty horrible, but once you play around with the building mechanics a bit, you can come up with pretty insane buildings, or even villages. You can't build floating buildings, because of the support system this game has. If you want to build a house with many floors, you've got to use the right pieces to support a taller building, so it doesn't collapse. You can craft wards that protect your buildings, and prevents opening doors. These come in handy if you don't quite trust the people you might be playing with.

Overall, this game is amazing. I was turned off by the graphical style at first, but after playing this game for a bit, I actually started to like it. Discovering new areas and sailing the oceans feels really good and rewarding, I spend most of my time at sea, sailing with a longship, fighting off sea monsters and discovering new places to build a house to. There's a lot of different monsters to fight. Some monsters just feel like weak ads that are more of an annoyance than a challenge, and some monsters put up a good fight. Some monsters can also stun/freeze/ignite/poison you, so there's good variety to the active combat.

I'll rate this game 10/10, you get so much for the ridiculously low price of 16,80€. Fun for hours. It's fun alone, and fun with friends. After playing it, I am not surprised they sold 2 million copies in just under 2 weeks.

Potential spoilers about the biomes.
At the time of writing this review, there's 7 different biomes. Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, Mountain, Plains, Ashlands and Mistlands. Both Ashlands and Mistlands are currently work in progress.

Potential spoilers about the bosses.
At the time of writing this review, there's 5 different bosses. Eikthyr, a big mythical deer creature in the Meadows. The Elder, huge tree creature shaped much like a human in the Black Forest. Bonemass, a large and poisonous ball of ooze and human remains in the Swamp. Moder, an ice dragon in the Mountains. Yagluth, a big crawling skeleton with a crown in the Plains.

A survival game that's definitely worth the price.

Deadside is a pretty straight forward survival game. You spawn in with nothing, and loot your way to the top of the foodchain.

What makes this game stand out is that instead of going against other players only, you also fight AI enemies that patrol the map and guard military areas. The AI enemies are no joke, and can put up a good fight. Just to make it clear, there is no zombies or other anomalies in this game. Just AI enemies and other players.

The game has a handful of guns and more are being added as the development progresses.

In terms of gameplay, it's a bit of an rinse and repeat. There's missions that spawn around the map, you basically go in and kill everyone inside to get access to some loot, and the loot tier is relative to the mission tier. The harder the mission, better the loot.

There is base building and land claiming, and the map has a plenty of space to build your own little cabin to.

Overall, this game gets a 7/10. For me it's a fun game to go play every now and then, but definitely not something I'd play non stop every day.

10/10 < Here's the numbers if you're not much of a reader, but if you are, here's a brief, unbiased opinion of the game.

DayZ is an open world survival game where you get put up against zombies, other players and the environment. The firefights in this game are intense and you won't get a rush like that in any other game.

Your goal is to survive. Loot weapons and other items to keep you safe from whatever the game throws at you next.

Not going into the history of the game too much, but DayZ has always been very buggy, and will most likely continue to be so. The developers are working hard to get all the issues ironed out. Players have learned to live around the bugs, so if you give this game a little time, those bugs aren't too much of an issue anymore.

The map (Chernarus) is a vast, fictional area located in Russia, and it has more than enough space for at least 80 players per server. There's large airfields, large military bases, smaller military camps, huge towns to explore, and a lot of forest to get lost into. There's also a DLC for a map called Livonia, which has a LOT of fields and ruined towns, alongside with a large airfield very close to player spawns, so a lot of PvP to be expected there.

The maps aren't limited to those two only, there's a bunch more community made maps like Deer Isle and Namalsk to name a couple, Namalsk being the new cool kid in town.

Talking about community made things, the modding community in this game is great and the game would definitely feel very stale without it. Make sure to look into this if you plan on getting the game! The modded servers offer everything to all sorts of gamers. You want PvP only? You can choose a server for PvP only. You want an immersive PvE survival experience? The modded servers got your back. You want RP? You guessed it, they got servers for it.

Anyways, you shouldn't expect this game to ever be 101% perfect and polished, it does have it's issues. But if you're a gamer that's looking for an intense survival game that you can sink countless of hours into, this game is definitely for you!

A great game to meet a lot of new people and make friends.
Still obviously in development, but devs are doing a good work.
The game is best experienced in VR, but you can play this game
with or without a VR headset. VRChat is also one of the few games
that support full body tracking, so if you got extra money to throw
away, you get your waist and feet tracked just like your head and
arms, which opens up many new doors in the world of VRChat, like
dancing etc.

I give the game 4/5, very nice place to spend time at, but avatars
could be obtainable from the workshop without it being dependant
on avatar worlds.
