SPOILERS AHEAD!

So, I heard a lot of people saying that Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best in the franchise but I have to disagree; Don't get me wrong, I love RTCW because it has its charm and it's special in its own way, but Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a whole damn experience.

Even though the "main" point of the game is killing all the nazis in your sight, The New Colossus does a very good job when it comes to integrating its themes in the world, themes that are very deep and philosophical if you really look into them; From coping with death right after Caroline was killed to Blazkowicz's abusive childhood and so many others.

Blazkowicz's development was a rollercoaster; In the beginning he was very unsure about his future because he was pretty much a paraplegic and thought he didn't had much time left, he was always avoiding Anya right before she confronted him about that and asked why wouldn't he at least try to figure out something, only then Blazkowicz says it with his own words "Because I'm f*cking dying!"; I think this scene was very important in his development because we get the base line of his character, he's now a dying "Tin Man" trying to accomplish as much as he can in the time he has left. Blazkowicz monologues after Caroline's death were showing how much trust and respect he had towards her and how affected he was by her death. Later in the game after he gets beheaded and acquires his new body, Blazkowicz not only regains his physical strength but most importantly he regains his mental strength, his will to fight and obliterate all the nazis.

Each of the character is memorable and unique, all of them have personalities and feel like real people, not just random npcs with 2-3 lines being in the story just for the sake of it. They have a purpose in the story, they are important and there are consequences to their actions; And they all have memorable lines, my all time favourite is Anya's good old "If you die one more time... I will murder you!~", obviously said to Blazkowicz himself. The New Colossus does, in my opinion, an excellent job at making you hate the villain "Frau Engel" throughout the game with her annoying personality, sky-rocketing your desire to kill her each time you see her face in a cutscene. And the final mission of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is probably my all time favourite because of the way it's made, you sneaking in the backstage of the nazi version of "Jimmy Fallon Show" to kill Frau Angel; I love the way there's no fancy boss battle, you just go there and kill her nice and clean with a hatchet to the face; And while Frau Angel is struggling in her last moments alive, Blazkowicz whispers "Lady... That the best you got? Then your best won't do; You among wolves now. And these are our woods", this scene was legendary and it truly gave me chills.

Gameplay felt good to me, the gun combat is top tier, you can customize your guns to match your style, I'm a big stealth fan so I tried my best to clear the missions being unnoticed and making as little noise as possible. I personally played the game on "I'm death incarnate!" difficulty so going full blown massacre wasn't really a choice because I would've died in less than a second (which, sometimes, I did anyway), so I tried my best being as stealthy as possible in the sections where was possible and only after I would show myself, this difficulty is not extremely hard, but it does make you strategize a bit before doing anything, I really recommend it!; The music is really good and it does remind me, in a strange way, of Doom and I think it fits the scenes very well.

So, after all of this I want to tell you that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is in my top 5 games and my favourite game in the franchise when it comes to: gameplay, story, music, character development and graphics. (but remember, good graphics are a plus, not a game defining feature.)
