I see what they were going for and on the surface it was great. The waves of Zombies crashing against your defenses is something glorious to behold. But it becomes a serious grind getting through the campaign AND my save file is now missing so I have wasted like 30 hours of game play.

Story has little depth.
AI ranged attacks implausibly accurate and devastating.
Shield has no effect.

Enslave and eat entire alien populations again.

Very active modding community.

Good support from devs.

And did I mention that you can enslave and eat aliens?

Graphics are dated and the turn based nature of the game isn't for everyone. BUT the gameplay remains solid and the narrative is really compelling.

Your choices in the game be they tactical, strategic or for your character (equipment, powers, alignment) have serious consequences and impact the path you will take and the way the game ends. While there are not an infinite number of play throughs the story remains captivating and you will replay this game to make the different choices and see the different endings. And the endings will matter to you. And you will come back to this game every few years.

When I played the rest of the Age of Wonders franchise I didn't get sucked into the story as much and so I couldn't ignore the flaws in gameplay or the dated mechanics and graphics.

I love this game

You will like/love this game until you reach lvl 5. After that you be massacred until you either cough up ridiculous amounts of money to purchase single items or you turn your back on the game as I have done.

- At the end of every game you will lose some of the in game currency to repair your weapons and replenish your ammo. This can prevent grinding In higher level games where you get murdered by guys who paid for cool weapons and your credits earned in the match might be just enough to cover repairs.
- Spawn points make no sense: you will walk/run for literally miles. Then you will either die or find that the objective has shifted and you will need to run again.
- Paratroopers ruin the game: Flak does nothing to transport planes, paratroopers can dodge bullets and flak and are immediately able to attack on landing. They can literally drop into the middle of platoon with flak support and be undamaged when they hit the ground.
- Not only will you run for miles, you will find yourself waiting to spawn because the game does not rebalance teams if people quit. If you're on the side with more players the dead team members enter a spawn queue. I have seen an enemy team go from 16 players to 5 because the pilots and paratroopers on that team quit after they lost the ability to spawn transports and planes. I then waited 7 minutes to spawn.
- For some reason you can't always fire weapons in vehicles, probably some play to win unlock mechanism.

Without significant changes to balancing and earning credits I can't see a sustainable community developing in this game to justify the 50 euros you'll need to spend to get the good stuff.

Utter garbage as the Huns. But don't dare try to play as the Romans or it will devolve into a repetitive nightmare of repeatedly putting down tiny rebellions because of bizarre squalor mechanics.

Pretty and original but still disappointing as it feels like it is a quarter of a game. Having "saga" in the title is definitely grounds for a false advertising claim.

Pick it up on sale at -75% otherwise don't bother.

Cool puzzles. Beautiful graphics. Ruined by uPlay.

Very entertaining puzzle game that is ruined by uPlay (Ubisoft's pitiful attempt at a steam platform). Twice my game data was lost and have had multiple problems with log ins.

This game kicks you while you're down and you'll love every minute of it.

This great space adventure gives you command of a single ship on a desperate mission through deadly space. Trade, scavange and kill for resources to build your craft into a death dealing juggernaught run by an elite crew. And even when you do so you and your crew will die screaming time and again at the hands of pirates, rebels, aliens and space itself. And you die permanently. And every playthrough is different.

AAARGH! It's so good! Trust me! There are so many different attacks and defences (especially with the DLC/Expansion) you'll be tweaking your strategy and replaying this game for weeks.

Solid entertainment. Challenging at times. Bit short.

I had my doubts but I am very satisfied with my purchase. Just don't expect too much depth: This game is point and click and I played the game through twice as Union in four hours. That being said I am really looking forward to playing the Confederates. The AI is freaky good at pushing a weakspot.

I have the feeling this will be my go to game when I only have a few hours to kill and want a complete experience. Who says a good, realistic strategy game has to take weeks to play?
