As someone who did not like DBD but enjoyed Friday the 13th. This fills the void.

Early Access Review
thumbs down because i am just tired of brain dead devs bro. 2023 and we have devs putting out starter packs and bs to get as much coin from you without putting in the basics and then when confronted about it the response from the dev is. "oh well gee, ill pass that along but since i play non-inverted, it never occurred to us"?

i'm just done shelling out my money for games with devs with that mindset. you shouldn't have to have a game in pre-alpha state with multiple patches and hotfixes already but be so out of touch with actual gamers. I only play non-inverted as so the majority. so to have a game with default inverted controls with no way to switch them while the game is introducing you to like 15 new mechanics and it's all inverted, just nonsense. And to read a response from a dev to say some bs like because they don't play that way, it never crossed their minds? Nahh.

Next.

I don't care how much I like this game. This port is trash.

"Hey, would you like to pre-load this game and play as soon as it releases?"

"Hahahaha loser, just kidding. You have to spend 45 minutes unpacking and then another couple hours installing shaders"

"oh the game is optimized so poorly and crashes so often you would like a refund? sure np! Oh wait, lololo just kidding. you are now over the 2 hours limit because it took you several hours to start up the game. you so goofy"

"hey, last of us pt2 it out, would you like to pre-load and play instantly on release"?

Me: "nah but you can pre-load my balls in your mouth".

Not the RE2 remake at all but definitely worth it for 10$ Still a good game, just too short.

Played this and Fable 2 growing up as a kid. Finally got around to playing this on the steam deck and it was a blast of nostalgia. It was even better than I remember because I actually understand the story this time around and it's actually crazy this is what kids were playing back then. Definitely some dark stuff in this game but it's what makes it so good. I know it'll never happen but I hope one day a Fable 2 anniversary edition or something gets released. Maybe a Fable 4? idk. I really miss these games.

EDIT: RIP Volition </3

I didn't get this remaster a long time ago because the reviews were saying it was bad and that the og one was better. so i played the og one for a while and it just seems so out-dated, couldn't get into it like i did for the first time back in the day.

Saw this was on sale for like $10 and figured i'd try it. all i can say is, i'm glad i finally got it. the graphics are so much better that it almost looks like a modded gta. i think the reason people think the graphics look medicore is because for some reason it's default settings are poor. Mine was at some wack resolution with everything low... I changed it to the correct resolution and maxed all the settings to ultra and it's just a night a day difference.

I'm only a couple hours in and have no noticed any bugs but unless they're game breaking, i usually don't mind them. time will tell. I am purely giving this a good review because while on sale for $10, the graphic improvement is worth it alone. This is arguably the last solid saints row in the serious in my opinon.

Volition. please remake the first saints row and the second one. Not some corny ass woke reboot crap. You all had it perfect with the first three games. Either expand on those, or remake them properly. Please and thank you.

EDIT: Couple patches finally did up coming up for this game. Over a year later.... Dumb..

EDIT: Changed it to a negative review because 110 industries and all other devs that charge top $ for mediocre work and then after over 4 months, no patch. well they can all go pound sand and then some. Just bs false promises and lies about one being worked on with no eta. At this point it would not matter if they came out with a patch, or a sequel or anything. Done supporting corrupt, lizard people who produce hot garbage. Next time, don't take months for a patch or maybe find a new career. Game is trash and so are the sales. Shameful.

EDIT: After putting 20 more hours into the game I can confidently say I stand by this review. I am now much better at combat and I am still not tired of watching the different ways I can execute people. My only things I would like to see implemented is cloud saving, steam deck verified and not being able to change difficulty when doing new game+ mode while having all abilities saving just makes it feels pointless. I do hope some DLC or a sequel are possible.

I have never played Ninja Gaiden. I was pretty young when that game was being talked about a lot. I watched a friend play it and watching him redo the same part of a mission for hours, just to do the exact same thing minutes later and to just rinse and repeat the process not only seemed tedious and boring but absolutely asinine. I would wonder how people enjoyed games like that. I'm an eye candy, Micheal Bay, Grand Theft Auto V kinda guy...

You're probably wondering. "okay, this moron accidentally left a positive instead of a negative review". The thing is. The market now is filled with remasters, remakes, sequels, trilogies, spin off, etc. That is has become not only redundant, stale, and boring but out right disgusting. The industry has become a breeding ground for game passes, loot crates, microtransactions, season passes and whatever else and it's not entirely these devs/publishers fault because we keep buying it and saying thank you.

With all that said. This. Is. A. Good. Game.

I knew nothing about this game other than seeing it pop up in the steam market place last night. I watched the trailer and was immediately drawn in. The characters, the gore, the combat, the cringe dialog, off the wall story, the Japanese style mini games, the aesthetics, everything. Everything screamed this is my type of game. So when I looked up the reviews I was completely thrown off by what I was reading. It wasn't just performance. People are bashing on this game in every way possible. With a price tag of $60 I was obviously concerned but thanks to Steams generous refund system I figured I would try it and all I can say is I am glad I did.

I thought this game was going to be your typical hack and slash game but I was far wrong. I was immediately thrown back to the days of watching my friend play Ninja Gaiden as that is identically what this game is. Rather than feeling thrown off like I did when I was a kid, I found a sense of accomplishment after finally beating a segment in the game by learning when to parry, dodge, block, shoot, run, heal, etc.. Even the checkpoint system people are complaining about is not that big a deal to me. It's not as frequent as most games now a days but I see it as more practice. Right now, I am not happy with my current abilities as I am still trying to get used to the controls and do more than just use my hand gun, dodge and attack. Until I am able to pull off some of these crazy combos I've seen others do, I don't mind 10-20 minutes between checkpoints.

Performance for me is fine. I get 60 FPS on a 6 year old computer. If you were a fan of those mid/late 2000 games like WET, Velvet Assassin, Wanted: Weapons of Fate and you like the challenges and difficulty that Ninja Gaiden and Souls games bring than I would definitely recommend this game, Even at $60 there is so much replay value here.

9.5/10

Only a few hours into this. What's really wild about this is that I just found it randomly while browsing the sales. It's honestly crazy how many wonderful indie games are hidden within the steam store. It truly is an amazing platform.

With all that said, this game blew me away. I expected, if anything, just another mediocre arcade racer. This game stands out as not only one of the best arcade racers I have ever played, but finding it out of no where and expecting nothing and then experiencing one of the best is really a high I find better than drugs.

The art style to this game is right in my portfolio of aesthetic. It's bright neon lights, smooth edges, cell shaddy retro just goes all out. It's catered to the JDM widebody style cars as opposed to the often, super cars. This arcade even has a story mode where you can play through several different characters. It's not a ground breaking story, but its something. For an arcade racer I found on sale for $7 that has a story mode is kinda mind blowing to me.

On top of all that... You use both thumb sticks to drift. It's thee most fun I've ever had. It's awkward at first, but super easy to pick up. After a few races you'll be surprised how addicting it is. The left stick pretty much just keeps the car drifting in the lane/line you want, while the right stick controls how much you drift. Mix this with proper braking and throttle pressure you can essentially drift entire laps continuously. It really is quite unique.

If you like arcade racers and you're into jdm, rgb and drifting then I strongly reconnected this game. If you can get it on sale it will probably be the best $7.99 you have ever spent. Even at $20, knowing what I know now. I would still buy it at full retail price.

10/10
