I had a good enough time with it but I'm unsure if I'll return to the remaster or not. The graphics almost feel like they've done a full generational leap here. The problem is that the game seems way more buggy then the original Saints Row 3. There were way too many times in my co-op playthrough here that we just had to do missions in single player. Certain missions would routinely DC every single time you reached a certain point in them, and the mission bugs got worse the further in we went. We had almost none at the start of the game. At the end of the game, at it's worst, we had a string of 3 missions that were almost unplayable in co-op. There is also very significant desync in co-op. The original isn't perfect in this regard but for some reason the remaster compounds on those issues making them worse.

TL;DR: This port is INSANELY buggy and crashes a lot so just don't bother. Play the original.

Saints Row: The Third™ Remastered seems like a slam dunk at first. The hit open world crime game with character creation, now with updated graphics, models and a new lighting engine as well as all DLCs and some back-ported content from Saints Row 4? Everyone online in reviews, comparisons or just threads where people ask which version is superior, seem to talk about how these added enhancements make this the definitive version of the game and that there is no reason to play the original anymore. However the main issue that no one seems to talk about is that this remaster is really broken, it has a ton of glitches and crashes so often to the point of making me want to tear my hair out. Something these people just conveniently didn't bring up I suppose.

Now I will admit I played the PS3 version and not the PC version of the original so I can't comment on its quality, however I still don't believe this game is at all an improvement while its in this state and I don't think the original had any of these issues according to what I have found online. The game will have invisible NPCs and cars, mission triggers won't work, the game will soft lock, the game will crash frequently. The AI has also taken a noticeable hit, with enemies not doing their job, or even worse, your homies doing jack ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ and also letting themselves get killed, making previously straightforward missions way more difficult because of it. They took the time to patch out all the harmless fun glitches people liked and had fun with but refused to fix fundamental issues with the game and the frequent crashing, which is baffling. I've scoured many forums to try and find a solution to all the crashing and came up empty no matter what I tried, it also seems like they essentially gave up fixing it and called it a day after a minimal amount of patches.

Make sure you save regularly if you play this or you're gonna lose a lot of progress, nothing sucks more than losing an hour of progress because you crashed and the last auto-save was a while ago. I literally cannot even pass the Ho-Boat mission because my game will always crash without fail no matter how many times I try to complete it. The only reason I continue to play this version is because I already bought it and don't want to pay again for the old version, though I may do that anyway if issues like this get too annoying to deal with.

To give the remaster SOME credit, coop still works (albeit more busted than the original, where it worked fine), the enhancements are very good, the lighting and character models are beautiful and the backported SR4 content is a nice addition as well as making some previously unattainable clothing options available to use. However while this would have actually make this the definitive game the bugs and crashes make it a worse experience overall. I honestly don't know how you take a perfectly functional game and then ♥♥♥♥ out such a broken ass remaster of it when the changes you did shouldn't make this game that unstable, it was already on PC. Sucks this was the last Saints Row thing to release before the reboot came and killed the series, really wish we got that Saints Row 2 patch. Anyway don't buy this, buy the original, it's cheaper, runs better, is smaller in size, has more mods and isn't super buggy and crash prone.
