Blasphemous 2 is fun, but truth be told, I'm a little disappointed in the sequel compared to the first game. It lost some of the cool atmosphere and “WTF?” reaction-worthy moments that made the first Blasphemous such a treat to push through until the end.

The bosses aren’t as cool looking (actually, they seem pretty uninspired this time around,) the enemies were reused too much in the game (recolored skins,) and the combat challenge rooms you get locked in were way too prevalent.

The first game forced you to learn how to parry and attack. This time I just brute-forced my way through and smashed everything with the mace since its range and damage was the best choice for everything.

Most importantly, there are barely any boobies in it this time around… disappointing. The waxy old man is not enough boob for us refined gamers.

That said, I still played it until the end, which I wouldn’t do if I didn’t like the game. Its fun, but as a sequel it feels like it comes up short.
