Played classic dwarf fortress for about a decade on and off, it's always been a great game, but now is a lot more accessible and user friendly. For players of the classic version, there will be a period of adjustment for you. The UI and hotkeys will take some getting used to, but feels great overall.

Definitely recommend giving this game a try! Just remember: losing is Fun.
