I didn't really care for this game. Too vague and directionless. I didn't get a sense of accomplishment from any of the tasks in the game. The puzzles seemed pretty good, but perhaps since it was in a vacuum without story or context, felt flat.

Oh man! I bought this not knowing what to expect. Mostly sight unseen, even. I fired it up on a whim and got sucked into it immediately. I'm that dorky kind of person who likes scrambling around outside making hikes into "the floor is lava" adventures.

Such a simple premise, no story or start screen or dialogue or characters, just platforms, water, buttons, and orbs.

This thing was like going to the City Museum in St Louis. There are so many ways to think about a different route between platforms, constructed just right to show you the game's intention and capability. Nothing but your own excitable curiosity to motivate you, and set to somehow both peaceful and highly exciting soundtrack. It was like being a little kid on a playground, but with the puzzle elements of something like Portal. Huge fan of this game.

I bought this game during the Steam Winter Sale on a whim. I didn't even finish watching the game trailer on the store page before buying it, it just looked so up my alley. I'm a casual gamer at best nowadays, but when I fired up Fez for the first time, you couldn't punch the grin I had from my face. I dropped everything I was doing and somewhat unwittingly spent the next three days playing it and replaying it.

A friend had suggested I watch Indie Game: The Movie when I gushed to them about how brilliant, beautiful, inventive, and perfectly suited to me Fez was. I haven't plugged into the gaming community for a long time, and just a minute ago I finished watching the film. I had no idea about the tumultuous history behind the game and its creators, its reputation, or any of that. And even without any of that hype and context, I found this game to be a visual, musical, mental, and emotional masterpiece. This is interactive high art in video games.

This game illustrates how easy it would be to incriminate anyone of acts against the government, regardless of the intent of the suspect and context clues that may give a reasonable and innocent excuse. Pretty scary. Good message.

Really great story-driven sequel to the legendary first-person puzzle platformer. Big ups.
