I will say this game is Fun at times. So far it's far FAR to simple and easy for me to consider seriously. Was able to exponentially grow at a rate that seemed unreal. It also seems the game seems very afraid to seriously punish poor decisions and plays a lot of hand holding soft-balling sort of city builder. I never felt threatened or in danger from the Big Bad Dude.. he was kinda just there as I snowballed upwards to invade him eventually. Fires need to be more terrifying they're far to... easy to deal with and the Purple Magic is kinda just a bar that kinda does some bad stuff and too much good for the player. Bad outcomes should be Brutal and this game's approach feels like it's hand holding patty cake walk sort levels of danger. Biggest danger I felt was from another player and their ambition for resource gains. Game needs to also make revolts way way more punishing as well.. worst it seems is you lose 50% production and... that's it.. so you could continue business as normal without much setback just build double to overcome the slight inconvience. Revolts should put the fear of god in the player and I felt more annoyed slightly than OH NO my peoples needs aren't met. Snowballing and balancing out resource management needs some serious retweaking. Don't get me wrong game is worth it on sale under 10 bucks but not worth the asking price of 30. Multiplayer also needs some work... a lot of work.

Scratches that itch of survival RTS. it has that feel of you have all the tools but don't know what's happening so the mystery of the zeds keeps you on your toes. You're always thinking what next.. what next.. Some Janky Buggy stuff but overall very punishing/rewarding game. I'd recommend to the devs to play through the game and get some quality of life updates to the game. One of them being loading/unloading troops that took me a minute to figure out and I've been playing games for 20+ years. Only con I can think of the rest of the game is a Diamond in the rough sorta affair. AI seems to always be working against you to counter what you're doing. Once you think you got it the Zeds surprise you. Also one mega gripe there was a Hard Crash that needs to be a thing that never happens especially using Unreal I'd recommend some time dedicated to bug fixing there. I'd give this game a solid 8/10 as is and I'd only buy on sale 20 is a bit of a high asking price of the current state of the game but can honestly be justified.

*Update*
Having now played more the zombies exponentially become a ever growing threat by day 7. Dear God I don't think I'll survive my run.

EXTREMELY HANDHOLDY EASY... I have yet to feel challenged by the game other than some artificial moments. Vehicles are Farcry through and through. Though this installment lacks the depth farcry 1, 2, and 3 had. I never played 4 skipped it and played this one. I'd give this a 7/10 thus far. protagonist is laughably Cartoony Evil, writing can use a passover honestly very confusing what the enemy's Motive is other than EVIL Cult. The Merica vibes are MUCH welcomed though loved that part a lot.

extremely difficult game but VERY deep in what the world is and what you can do. Endless RPG opportunities. I had a castle Overran with Dwarf Eating Cats. 10/10 would play again.

So Far it's a City Builder RPG style game. Kinda reminds me of Fable meets Age of Empires if I had to put it into words. Few gripes of course early access but I have to say my piece.

1. Dialogue of the NPC is repetitive and voices are very ROBOTIC
2. Movement of your followers is a bit wooden wish there was a little more dynamic flow of movement of NPCS and soldiers.
3. Combat though now feels better than the previous iteration still needs some work but now feels a little more dynamic.
4. City Dwellers need more personality as their want/desires though I see are there don't matter that much once you got a flow of basic resources. NPCs need quirks likes dislikes , if you ever played black and white system you know what I'm talking about they just feel lifeless/souless/age of empire resource getters instead of a free-thinking with personality individuals helping one build a small village.
5. That's about all the gripes I had the rest of the game is a joy and you want to play 1 more hour to build up your small village that's where the charm lies.. OH OH I know building walls that needs to be fixed to Age of empires style drag and place in it's current form it's beyond annoying to build a meaningful fences.
6. Oh one last gripe build mechanic is horrid with the floating dots and placing but the NPC building everything negates that so I let the PEASANTS build and I play RPG/Age of Empires ye peasants build my structures XD. Thankfully once you get your first builder you never have to interface with the build system other than telling the peasants what and where to build.
7. Game probably needs more threats to one's settlement in early game as it feels very laidback at this point I see where it's going, I'd say look at Rimworld for examples of dynamic and engaging encounters if the game had that instead of X timer a underpowered part of bandits attacks it be interesting.
8. Village you start in they need more personality they seem to aimlessly walk in circles... kinda wish they would attempt to survive on their own and build things , harvest, etc that way you get those moments of OH where did you come from peasant? oh a village over yonder? OK XD.
9. Terrain is servicable but needs a beautification passthrough and there are some weird weather glitches that suck you out of the moment.
10. Marching back to base after killing a bandit camp feels good, kinda wish the men had songs they sing similar to the songs you get in Assassins Creed Black Flag, I think bonding with one's army will make this game that much more alive. I'd like to have it where as you disband the army and if you defeated a bandit camp they sing tales of the glorious victory. They are also missing a feast hall or something to dine with your men after such things.. *Just thoughts at this point what would be awesome*

Overall a solid 7/10 game with room for improvement which is why it's in early access. Hope this helps if the devs read this lol.

Likes : Being a veteran of path of exile 1 , coming from that this game is a solid follow-up. I would say so far only 36 hours in that it excels at the rule of cool combat. You will feel challenged and feel badass which took a little longer in path of exile 1 to get to that point. The equipment and loot drop feels about right and gone are the screens of trash trash trash, they now at least give you a valuable resource *GOLD* which you can use to gamble. Trading is solid and carbon copy of the 1st game other than no div cards thus not able to start my normal season opener to becoming wealthy XD I'd say overall the game feels more team oriented and rewards creative team work WAY more than the first game. First game felt like a bunch of solo gods blowing up things. Now at least you have to work together to survive the chaotic but beautiful combat that lay before you. WORTH price of Entry. Some of my skins from POE1 are available but it's early access so I'll patiently wait for the remaining stash to be available but I can at least see it. Tabs came over which is NOICE. My brother who is more casual enjoys the game and is building cool things so they got the more approachable gameplay loop down it seems. I'd give this game a solid 9/10 read the dislike down below for my 1 point docking. You will want to replay zones to level up in acts and enjoy it. Scenery is okay and some moments of epicness as in the castle areas of act 2. Monsters each one of them brings the pain and challenge , overcoming them you feel like a badass. Some mobs even feel like a very cool mini-boss fight which I think is brilliant honestly can't say that enough I love being down to 1hp chips are down, monsters up coming at you and you to FLIP OVER THE MONSTER AND UNLEASH LIGHTING DEATH feels Heroic. That is what I'd say HEROIC feeling. When I get to maps which seems like a JOURNEY at this point XD I will let you guys know my thoughts on the mapping mechanics.

Dislikes : I would say the trials fall flat when compared to the ascendency trials of the first game. 1st game felt like a epic journey to become the warrior you're meant to be. This feels like a slog through sanctum which was the least favorite gameplay loop from the 1st one as it only rewards certain builds where as the previous trials allowed for creative thinking builds making a vast majority of builds viable for mapping. Acts were a tutorial of how to play the game now it feels it punishes you for building anything other than screen eraser builds, doesn't reward creative unique builds as much. Out of all the coolness that is one thing I can say without a doubt needs to be re-thought as a new player introduction. I miss the cool dialogue the taunting the boss provided to the experience. Now it feels lifelessly going through the motions to beat a souless rock monster. Also some of the boss fights are Giga Lame act 2 boss before the final boss is one of the more boring engagements. Final boss of act 1 and 2 are solid bosses the rest are very forgettable.
