Shortened version
AoS is a team-based FPS similar in style to Minecraft and Team Fortress 2. I would rate it 9/10 because of:
+ nice voxel graphics
+ pleasurable soundtrack
+ well-balanced classes
+ fully destructible environment
+ compatibility with Steam Workshop - lagging community servers
As you can see, benefits outweigh drawbacks.

Full version
Ace of Spades (previously called Build and Shoot or AoS Classic) is a sandbox building and FPS game released in 2011. You can still download the original version HERE[buildandshoot.com].

It's the most addictive multiplayer team-based game I've ever played. The variety of game modes won't let you feel bored:
  • TDM
  • CTF
  • Classic CTF (also known as Classic Mode)
  • V.I.P.
  • Zombie
  • Territory Control
  • Multi-Hill
  • Diamond Mine
  • Demolition
  • Occupation
You can find this list with explanations HERE[aceofspadeswiki.info]

In addition, players can choose from these classes:
  • the Commando (rocket jump!)
  • the Engineer (jetpack, rocket turret)
  • the Marksman (quick scope)
  • the Miner (drill canon, superspade)
  • the Zombie (only in Zombie mode)
  • the Gangster (only in V.I.P. and TC)
  • the Deuce (only in classic mode)
You can find this list with explanations HERE[aceofspadeswiki.info]

Concerning maps, the voxel environment is fully destructible. You can construct defensive structures, dig trenches or drill underground tunnels.
Moreover, Ace of Spades allows you to create and download Steam Workshop maps. The map editor is complex, but easy to use. A wide selection of objects and effortless terrain modelling will help you design an ideal map.

I would highly recommend this game to any Steam user. AoS provides the players with unusual gameplay, well done maps and entertaining soundtrack.
