Born Again (Again)
I played around release and while there were things I enjoyed, I didn't feel very inspired to continue because it felt like a slow version of similar games. I spotted a substantial patch note and decided to hop back in. I was pleasantly surprised that things felt smoother and the overall loop felt faster.

After the changes I feel this is now actually a fun little game with a nice community. You can teleport between settlements on the map and cosmetic items can be permanently saved between characters (for a $ cost). It also feels easier to gain honor which you use to expand your shared item bank, unlock new classes, purchase items from the blacksmith, or to unlock new character slots.

Basic loop is create character -> level up by killing enemies and completing bounty quests -> face final boss with other players -> level reset to come back stronger -> repeat until you inevitably die tragically -> profit

Mechanically, it's a fairly basic bullet-hell ARPG with an ancient Japanese theme, but once the progression system clicks with you, you'll find yourself hunting rare drops and stacking up gems to power up your blessings while trying to avoid being vaporized.

I recommend giving it a try if you like permadeath ARPGs like Realm of the Mad God or Darza's Dominion, or if you're just curious about this particular breed of "MMO permadeath bullet-hell ARPG".
