This was the game that got me into factory games after bouncing off factorio. The movement in the game feels fun and satisfying (almost as good as a fps if not better) and its fun setting up factorioes and exploring an alien planet. good stuff!

Dude did what he set off to do, imo. Made a cozy little builder where you can really zoom in and feel how alive your town is. Rough around the edges but an awesome showing for this slavic magic fella. I think this is worth the price of entry. there's balance issues and some small quibbles but it's a enjoyable time.

I really like this game, got hooked in the last steam demo fest. it's sort of like 'They are Billions', you build a little base and between enemy attack waves, try to push out and expand that base/resource base to make it stronger between waves. If you were a turtle in old school RTS games (as I was) then these games are great.

In addition you start with a damaged starship floating above that you can slowly repair with planetary assets. Eventually it can help add manpower and research to your base below. You can even get planetary bombardment upgrades, though as of this writing i haven't gotten those yet. I'm a noob. :P

The game has some rough edges too, such as limitations from the 2d-ness of the game. Can't rotate around to see an enemy behind a wall or mountain for example so that can be annoying. I also am colorblind so the enemies are kinda hard for me to see sometimes. The dev added little red skulls when enemies are attacking you so that helps a ton, but they still sometimes sneak up on me. A full on colorblindness mode in the options would be great. if the aliens were bright red, that'd help. Currently the aliens just blend in with the back ground for me, even in the screenshots. Doesn't kill the game or anything. I just have to be extra careful.

The RNG can be a little unforgiving at times, you can get a totally awesome landing spot with awesome choke points or you can get one where you are totally exposed. Also when you level up your hero character you get 3 skills to unlock randomly. Some (Drones) are a lot more useful then others. This can for sure change how confident you are in ranging out to poke into the world. if my Commander is decked out in drones then im super aggressive, if i get more passive abilities then ill play way more defensively. I've seem some hub-bub about it in the community. Personally I think this is just the nature of these games and the dynamic nature adds more play ability. But there's been lots of discussion around it and I thought it was worth mentioning.

Speaking of discussion (Segue!) I'll add that the dev is super responsive in the discord. Has a whole channel dedicated to suggestions and isn't affraid to really talk about any idea the community comes up with, and discuss things like rng. This is a pretty huge deal to me, devs sometimes get so locked into their vision they lose sight of what's actually fun as a player, and being willing to chop it up and talk about game ideas with people is super awesome I think.

This could be a wait and see for some people, but for me I was super in the mood for this kind of game and it's hit a sweet spot for me. I don't know if i'll play hundreds of hours currently. I'll play all the current content (which feels like it'll be 40ish hours atm) and put it down until release/big patches, and $12 is a perfect price point for that. If you like wave defense type games this game has tons of content already and is worth it.

This game is a interesting one! It's sort of like kenshi-light but with a trading card game-esque fighting system. Here's my impressions so far going in pretty much blind.

First the fighting system. You have several basic fight moves you can use and you use a certain amount to unlock special moves. The enemy projects the movies it'll make and you cant "counter" them to basically. You can hold 6 special moves, and you unlock more by completeing quests. During the fight you can counter the enemies moves (which are telegraphed to you) a certain amount of times to basically stop their turn. You can see the chart on the topmiddle of the screen during the fight. This is your bread and butter the first few characters because you are very weak untill you get more karma (more on that later)

You start the game on a small square map (wake up on a boat with no memory) complete some tutorials and learn the basics and complete a quest which unlocks a new map tile that you place your self. So the game play loop is complete quest for your tile of the map, unlock placing a tile on the map of which you get to pick from 4. The new tile will have a new quests you need to accomplish to unlock a new tile. The tiles range from cute little towns to massive castles to just wilderness or lavafields. Also you get a powerup when completeting the quest so you can make your basic moves hit harder or you can unlock more special moves.

There's also npcs running all over the map that you can befriend, marry, enslave, hire, teach, or learn from. They are also running around doing their own things so they can and will fight each other and die.

The game is a roguelike in a ways in when you die you use the karma from your life to make a new character where you get more health or unlocks depending on points you acquired in your previous play. you play on the same map and if you're lucky you can even find your old loot so the setback is more getting the skills you lost.

There are also animals you can tame and name. I tamed a monkey who upon getting my butt kicked by a very strong enemy picked me up and ran me to a hosptial. This game is pretty silly at times to, you can have a kungfu fight with a dog, or a chicken, or a snake and its pretty funny. They also will occasionally pitch in on t he fights.

That's been my experience so far. and this is a medium to high recommend - it's a very quirky game but if the above sounds fun you can't beat the price. I feel like I've just scratched the surface of this game and its easy to recommend at $15.

hey i doubt anyone will see this except my friends list anyway! yeah you should get this.

I just wanted to update my review to satisfy the steam qualifications, and to say that the durge run is the cannon run, imo.

This is a very hard roguelike with beautiful/interesting animations.

The world just feels alive with butterflies flapping by and people living their life in town.. But it will punish you. Saving is intermittent, and combat can and will turn on you and destroy a half hour+ of work. I'm kind of on the fence about if it needs quick saving. As someone with a life I would really enjoy it, but its hard to beat the satisfaction of beating a dungeon and just barely surviving and limping into town because you used your last splint fighting the boss. I do know even when i have to walk away from the game something about it pulls me back to try /just one more time so based on that I'll give it a recommend if a super hard roguelike seems fun to you.
