Ruin... has come to my party.... After hours of traversing the darkness, holding to the false hope granted by the waning light of our torches, and cutting down foul abominations with blood and steel, we came to a room full of glittering gold, trinkets and baubles. Our stress, our wounds and tears had finally yielded a treasure worth our pain and suffering. But, alas, it was a fleeting hope. We were then confronted by a creature of such a dreadful constitution half the part was driven mad by the sight of it, vexed by psychotic visions and terror, they became incapable of facing our foe and were felled with ease. The rest of my party.. we fought valiantly, but its strength was too great and their lives were snuffed out as a candle in the darkness of night.

I escaped the abomination. Limping back to the estate to lick my wounds, relieve the stress of death and defeat, and prepare to venture once more into the dark depths of of the estate to fight for its salvation. Our hope, though a weak flame, continues to burn.
