I guess I don't "get" it. I had a few chuckles but mostly I was bored or angry.
The "combat" was the worst part for me. The music is great though!

Gameplay:
It's repetitive but solid (hehe). The movement and shooting mechanics are spot on. There is a TON of content. I don't agree with all the design decisions. (Time gates, FOB, recycled missions). Still, it's very fun and enjoyable.

Story: First off. This should NOT be MGS5 and I don't think it is. None of the previous MGS games have used Roman Numerals. Yes V is for Venomous. But I think Mr. Kojima is messing with us. This is another Peace Walker. It's another tale in the story of Big Boss after Operation Snake Eater leading up to Metal Gear 1. There is a lot of story but it's just not told in the classic Metal Gear Solid/Kojima way. Which I'm not a fan of.

Overall:
If you're a Metal Gear fan, it's a must play. If you like open world games with the option of stealth or guns blazing, wait for a sale.

Very fun game. The gameplay just "feels" good. If you enjoyed the combat of the Batman Arkham games and you like LotR, you'll like this. If you haven't played the Arkham games, go buy the first for $5 and if you like it and you like LotR, then buy this.

Where do I start? This game is amazing!

I'm not sure how but I totally missed out on Cave Story. I maybe vaguely remember hearing about it years ago but never played it.

So this review is based on my Cave Story+ playthrough only but I'm sure I'd love the original just as much.

The story is very quirky and fun. Very japanese, I love it! The pacing in terms of gameplay, difficulty and story is perfect. Thiss is like the perfect NES game that never was. The soundtrack may be the best part. I'm still listening to it every couple days. The game just sticks with you after you play it.

Bottom line. If you consider yourself a gamer you owe it to YOURSELF to play this game.

Solid little time waster. Great music and sound effects! Waiting to see if a sequel ever happens.

This is what game developers should be shooting for. The atmosphere in this game is amazing. If you are a fan of action RPGs you MUST play this game. Don't skip out just because you think it's too hard. You will rage, but it's the good kind of rage. The kind you used to get playing NES games 25 years ago. You will learn from your mistakes, improve and move on.

Do yourself a favor. Play this game, die a lot and enjoy every minute of it!
