As one of my guildmates put it, this game is a marathon, not a sprint. If you enjoy connect-3, deck building, and turn-based combat, this is genuinely a really great and - as far as I've ever seen - unique game.

I love the concept of competing for certain-color gem matches with opponents. Each color of gem represents a different color of mana. In order to charge up your units to cast attack spells, you must collect the required amount of mana for each troop. It does lend a certain amount of chance to the game, since each game board starts and falls differently, but I don't mind that at all. It keeps things interesting and offers a bit of luck if you keep retrying particularly difficult fights until you get a good starting board.

The only thing I could feasibly complain about at this point in time (I know there's still more game I've yet to uncover and form an opinion on) is that the human player avatar (and most of the other ones) is abysmal in comparison to the art for nearly every other thing in the game. Also, if you've got an eye for art styles, you may notice there is quite a bit of variance, since the devs have clearly expanded the cards/troops you can obtain many times since making the game, but the difference isn't too distracting as it all falls into the same realm of style. I'd much prefer a bit of expansion style shift than a stagnation in game content.

They've done it again! Mini Metro was an excellent, groundbreaking game. They've taken everything they've learned from the community of committed Metro players and turned it into a game that comes with both More complexities as well as their signature simplistic style. If you liked the first game and are ready to let something a little different into your heart, absolutely buy Mini Motorways.

You can feel the love that went into this game. The game quality in and of itself is an example of this, but the detail that left me absolutely and irrevocably in love with this as an addition to the Mini Series is that, when switching between night mode and regular mode, the cars turn their headlights on and off. It's not an automatic change in the visual style; hitting play allows them to all, individually, turn them on or off. It's things like this that show how much care went into Mini Motorways.

I've nearly finished this one and my feelings on it are simple: if you want to play it for relaxation, it's an excellent puzzle game. If you lean more toward completionism and achievement hunting:

It comes with good achievements to get, but it's slow to get them. You will have to play most puzzles /at least/ twice - once to learn all the pieces and once more to meet the 0 mistake/time requirements. However, being quick enough means you are likely to slip up and place a piece slightly off at least once or twice when going for your 3-key score on each puzzle. If you do this, you have to start over to get your no-mistake key.

Fortunately, hints are free and penalty free with a cooldown of about 15 seconds or something, so if you get a set of pieces where none are connected to the ones on the board, it will show you exactly where one of them goes. I feel like that's pretty generous.

All in all, I've had an okay time playing this. Probably the problem for me is that I sat down to binge the game and it's a better game for people who want to do a few puzzles a day for a long time. I just don't like this game enough to want to draw it out that long - hence the binging. If you want a slow paced puzzle game, this is perfect for you.

P.S. If you want to buy this because you love Alice in Wonderland, I warn you that only about 20% of the images are Alice in Wonderland related. The other ones are kind of naturey or fairytailesque, but not Alice.

This is easily one of my new favorite puzzle games. The replayability is really good and the challenge/achievement system is staggered in a way that ensures you don't get them all right away. Unlocking certain achievement paths happens in game when you reach certain preplaced tiles and finish the quests they give you.

If you focus on unlocking all of the quest paths, you could probably unlock them all in under twenty hours. I, however, didn't know this was how you gain access to them, so I've racked up over 60 and haven't unlocked them all. I'm fine with this, but want to reassure you that, if you don't want to play this many hours before completing the game, you may not need to.

Aside from the achievements, the things I enjoy most about this game are the visuals, the turn-based play style, and the random selection of tiles ensuring replayability. Each game progresses slightly differently and you can take your time thinking about the right move before making it. As you unlock new biomes/seasons/skins in the game, the color and style gradient between the tiles gets more and more complex, leaving you with a really pleasing rainbow of a landscape. It's very nice to look at.

If you like thoughtful puzzle games, this is a must-have!

If you like real time strategy, this game is absolutely excellent. There's a great variety of clans to choose from, each with their own unique play styles. You can play with friends or by yourself. And, of course, there's also a campaign to be done.

Personally, for me, the things that set this game apart from alternatives are the excellent graphics, comfortable learning curve, the sense of polish to the game, and the large selection of achievements to work on as I play. The achievements available for this game on Steam are also present in the game and, as you finish them, you get rewarded with points you can use to buy simple cosmetic decorations and alterations that are visible while playing.

I am in love with this game! The visuals, the mechanics - everything! If you like formulaic games that take a small amount of grinding to unlock things and discover things, along with lightweight storytelling through NPC monologue, this is the game for you.

I'm so looking forward to the additional features that are planned for later versions of the game. My only complaint so far is that the in-game cursor is not very responsive, so it kind of lags behind my actual cursor. This makes playthrough feel almost artificially slow. If the devs could improve cursor speed as well as in-game slowness (when opening the recipe book, for instance) this would take a definite seat in my top 5 favorite games.

minor spoilers

The story in this game is pretty amusing, I guess, but the pace of it is GLACIAL. The animations are half the speed they should be and the entire game is literally just a series of pressing space or the appropriate arrow key to do an action. You gather some supplies from the townspeople and then set out on a journey up this mountain to uncover the spiritual history of it. I spent literally like 2 hours completing the game and most of that time was just:

space to jump. watch a turtle-paced jump animation. space to jump. watch a turtle-paced jump animation. hit space to break rock. watch a turtle-paced mine animation. hit space to break rock. watch a turtle-paced mine animation. hit space to break rock. watch a turtle-paced mine animation.

If you found reading that boring or you skipped it as soon as you realized it was repeating, don't buy this game. I actually can't beLIEVe this costs 10 bucks. It is 100% not worth more than 2 or 3.

I think the most upsetting part of this entire game is that, after two hours of literally holding down the right arrow key to slowly walk from one side of the screen to the other, over and over and over again, with breaks to hit space or the up arrow and wait for an animation to play out, I'm finding out that there's one last achievement that requires a second play through. I'm about to lose my mind. I can't believe I have to play this again to complete the achievements. That was a huge d--- move on the creators' part :/

The good about this game is that itt's got a really nice number selection function that doesn't involve scrolling or typing, which I appreciate. It also shows you how many of each number are left and if you hover over the number counter, it will highlight where they are, which is great.

However, I have a lot of complaints.

First, the difficulties seem a bit arbitrary. Maybe they're based on amount of numbers or something but doesn't take into account position of numbers at all. Because of this, some of the easy puzzles are more medium in difficulty and many of the medium feel like easy or hard.

Next, there are no contrast settings and many of the puzzles end up having colors with too low of contrast. If you select a number to highlight, the highlight color will be almost exactly the same as the background. I have perfect color vision and even I have a hard time spotting the ones highlighted. This is a huge accessibility issue.

The restart button has no confirmation so you could completely trash an hour of progress by accident.

The achievements have weird character and symbol names with no description to hint at which number of puzzle it correlates to, which is really lazy achievement design.

In my opinion, you should not need to notate to solve a sudoku. Notation should make it easier but it shouldn't be necessary, especially not on medium difficulty puzzles for someone with insanely high mental visualization abilities. A medium sudoku should not involve mentally mapping out six steps ahead, *in addition to notating*, to figure out each ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ number. I haven't even gotten to the hard ones yet and I'm NOT looking forward to it. However, being a completionist, I feel like I have to just to finish the game.

I feel like whoever made this game thought it would be an easy cash-grab and doesn't actually know anything about sudoku. They thought they could just throw some non-conflicting numbers onto a grid and slap some pretty colors on it and it would be enough, but it's just not.

This game was pretty okay. If it's on sale for a dollar, it's not a terrible price. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The difficulty was extremely low, the game was fairly boring and uneventful, and I completed all of the main levels in 2 hours.

The low amount of content was honestly not as big a part of my non-recommendation as how boring it was. I generally enjoy word games. I think the reason this one fell flat was the extreme simplicity that took most of the logical thought process out of it. It functions similarly to a word search, but you have to finagle the words around each other. It takes the time consuming parts of a word search and combines it with the time consuming parts of a logic game without the redeeming qualities of either.

This is a pretty good jigsaw game. The controls are smooth, you're given 7 focus boxes to store single pieces in, the cut of the pieces is clear and clean. Altogether, it's really nice.

The only thing I could complain about are the picture choices. Many of them are covered 40%-80% with the same texture or blurred background, which does not make for a good puzzle. Whoever chose the images for this game got the 'item in focus' part right, but seems to have missed the part where the background needs to be equally filled with content or it's difficult and boring to complete.

One of the better images I've put together on here was the tape measure picture, which showed a closeup tangle of different colored tape measures. 90% of it was in focus, it had multiple colors, and obvious shade differences when of the same color, and was really good for a puzzle.

Anyway, it's a free game and would be worth it even if it was a few bucks. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a time killer
