If you were put off by Acid Nerve's previous title, Titan Souls, don't let that deter you from trying out Death's Door. While Titan Souls was a glorified boss rush with a pretty cool story, Death's Door is an action/adventure game with an emphasis on exploration and puzzling, akin to old school Legend of Zelda.

I've seen some reviews compare this game to Hollow Knight, and while I can see where they're coming from, I would definitely say Death's Door gave me much more of a Hyper Light Drifter vibe, and that's not a bad thing! If you enjoy backtracking once you've acquired new abilities to find secrets and other things, then this game is right up your alley. It's not too long; I'd say my first playthrough took about 20 hours, and that's including going out of my way to receive 20 out of the 24 achievements on my first run. Speaking of achievements - if you are like me and enjoy 100%ing these kinds of games, then you'll appreciate the achievement list for Death's Door, as they are unique and actually fun to seek out and accomplish (less of 'kill 300 enemies during your playthrough' and more of 'seek out secrets and be rewarded with an achievement for it' and 'kill this boss in a unique way').

The game also does something I ADORE in games of this niche, and that's postgame content, baby. Get placed back into the world after rolling credits and figure out why. There's a few new things to check out (;

Overall, I was satisfied with this game and can easily see myself going through it again in the future.
