I'm gonna try to update this review once I've finished the true ending so, until that time El Psy Kongroo...

I'm an avid reader and ambitious person when it comes to selecting certain things in life. And I try to be overly selective as much possible as I could be.

I've waited several years to finally deciding to play SG. My initial reasons for not buying or playing it were merely just how this VN seems to be innocent and naive. That was not completely a false judgement but it has a few points where you simply don't wanna see or mark it as a 'casual' type of VN. Well because it isn't some average VN that you just miraculously encountered while surfin on the net and thank Steins;Gate for that.

I've almost finished nearly 50% of just a single playthrough, so finishing SG definitely takes a while. The beginning could seems as a boring, disorganized typical anime/VN introduction to the serie but it has tons of referrings and meanings to look upon about pop-culture, Japanese sub/alt cultures like moe, eroge, anime, maid cafés, otaku etc. Psychics, scientific research methods and theories etc. Overall it offers a good variety of infos to check on a side note-like diary while delivering the narrative, story and jokes.

Writings, monologues, dialogues etc. are really captivating. That's wholesome, depressive and existential at the very same time. Suddenly you could find yourself felt deeply connected to the writing and waiting for a catharsis to appear. Even though I've barely encountered in the beginning to mid-game that's what kept me playing/reading/listening for hours non-stop.

Oh btw the best part about SG is voice acting imho. I've recently watched the live action play, so it did helped me a lot to reimagining events, locations, charas etc. Both VN and live action has something very powerful in common, in terms of transfering the emotion to the audience; voice!

Without voice, this VN could easily fall apart. The voice acting is what makes it literally purrfect as Faris Nyan² would say.

Art style and CGs are pretty much above average, although they are unique so that's a pro.

I love the characters. Bold genius main girl vs. literally mad mental scientist. An unorthodox match, I reckon.

Given the psychological circumstance of Rintaro and
the happenings of constant jumps through times due to the changements on the past, are some of the most if not the best topics we could read or think about a bit more.

Hands down, SG is the best VN I've ever read in my entire Kongroo life!

Edit: Damn! this game hit me so hard. Flawless storytelling, pure brilliance. Finished just right now, an emotional roller-coaster. Just play it already, that's all i can say.
