Not like most excel Simulators, this game is beautiful. There are plenty of nerdy references from warhammer to star trek, lots of immersion and lots of meaningful moments that let you feel immersed. The constant stream of dlc keep the game fresh and always a great option whether youre mid flight or looking to blow off some steam after an exam.

Greetings everyone and thanks for looking at this review. Just wanted to say that the game is enjoyable but suffers from the same issues as all other Paradox games face, which I wont go into here. What I will say is that it is more suited to multiplayer than the other games and is much more user friendly so it could be a great introductory game into the paradox game world.

The Single player is not that enjoyable and the characters feel flat but the new zombies are interesting. The combat is acceptable given the year but I'd recommend vermintide 2 instead unless your'e looking to play against people.

Its not bad per say, and the hero mechanics can be fun, that being said WH is taking a large share of the playerbase

Small community, but when the game works its a lot of fun. That being said it dies at night and its only worth playing when one has the friends to play with. feels slow at times and larping is encouraged enjoy

Came into this game skeptical and for the record never played the board game or related games...

The combat seems weird at first but it grows on you quickly with a pleasant feel every time you get an especially devastating strike in. More tutorial options than in paradox's other games and honestly that makes this game really quick to pick up or return to. Also managing a little merc outfit has been a blast and i look forward to the next 100 hours i put in on this

Also for the sake of describing it. The combat is exactly how a board game visualized should look (sorry blood bowl). Multiple weapon types and different damage calculations have honestly left me wondering if the tabletop would be worth getting if Im being honest.

So I played this game a lot more before I got on steam through my physical copy of the game so dont let the hours fool you ;) as for the game itself :

a lot of the old mechanics are great compared to the newer games but the diplomacy and agents in particular can feel useless at times

Personally I enjoyed the brits, venice, and the HRE as factions

and the assassin and spy videos are something that are amazing <3 love to watch the pope assassinations haha

got a few rounds in, it becomes boring really fast and you take more risks after you establish a system so goodluck

Not my favorite game but made well overall,

It really does feel like a board game for better or worse and you have to understand that. Some rolls are frustrating but thats just how life works. Its not a game for everyone and honestly I probably would not buy it if I knew what I knew now... that being said its not a bad game at all and can be enjoyable at times; just not in my taste.

the art style is cartoony but it grows on you. Overall pretty fun and makes me interested in the newer games which I havent touched yet. Can say this game is great though
