I've participated in the closed beta early in 2022 and it did show some potential to its gameplay and overall look'n'feel though the performance was much to desire. I eventually bought it at launch, knowing the performance problems and it still went fine for a good while.

I eventually took a break from the game then return later this year to see how far they've come with the fixes and it shows! Less crashes and much smoother gameplay now, not to mention a fix towards the crafting system which i wasn't a fan of.

Overall the feel of the gameplay is spectacular - both in ranged and melee combat. One thing that is also not mentioned much is how close it feels to the lore of 40k. This franchise treats individuals in the universe either as incredibly important or absolutely meaningless. In Darktide, you are the latter - no matter how much progress you do, but still it feels like you're doing some effort despite being a blip on the radar.

I also love the attention to detail both visually and through the dialogue. Environments feel like you really don't want to live here and the rampant corruption (both physical, mental and political) is easily seen.

Highly recommend if anyone is a fan of horde-style games like the previous Vermintide games or LFD! I'm hoping that once things are ironed out, we can get to see more things to fight and environments to explore.
