Like others have said its more similar to outer wilds than anything. However very good and makes you track all things found like a madman.

Very good mystery game with a suprisingly in depth overarching plot that does a great job getting the player to slowly unravel over time. Highly recommend the DLCs too!

This ♥♥♥♥ is actually so cool wtf

This game is fun however there are also plenty of bugs throughout the game that slowly deter from enjoyment, including many with using controller as well. The game play loop is pretty fun however the beginning does take some tedious progression to hit a point of even progression (alot of crafting recipes require very specific items and its not until later where its easy to farm items so its just praying for good rng).

Alot of bugs are also infuriating to deal with like
- Being able to destroy platforms that building are standing on and not being able to rebuild with the building still there.
- The targeting is very finicky ESPECIALLY on controller (good luck trying to places roads, landfill or trying to shovel with controller)
- Some of the chests on certain islands spawn inside unbreakable objects making them pointless and stuck forever.
- etc.

It sucks cause I do like this game especially when automation starts coming into play and you start setting up farms, but these bugs (I assume) have been in the game for a long time and the devs don't seem to be bothered to fix it.

Game play is fun and the player base only enhances it with the VOIP proximity chat. For 15 bucks this is a steal, if you like the original battlefield games you should buy this.

After playing this dlc since launch this might be the first "required" dlc they've released. Ideology and Royalty both allow more customization and goals you can achieve by allowing kingdoms and religions for you creation, but for Biotech I genuinely don't know how I would go back to not using it any more.

It drastically changes the way you build and create pawns by adding actual parenthood.
It allows creation of specific pawns to create new races to play.
It even allows actual usage of the mechanoids in the game (which otherwise is just another version of a raider or bug)

This is one of the most in depth colony building games. Not only for the actual progression, but for the actual colonists you work with when playing the game.

If you have never played an automation type game, this would be one of the main pillars that have defined the genre.
