The writing is horrible, exposition without end, and combat is button-mashy while the character shouts out loud the name of the move you're using. I saw the glowing reviews and liked the art, but wow why does anyone like this.

Seems like it could be really fun, but I can't read Chinese so I don't have any idea what items do, or how the story is unfolding, or really what anything means or does.

The store page says the interface is supported in both English and Chinese, but that's definitely not true. Some things in the menu are sort of in English, but beyond that not much else in the game is. Tutorials, messages, item descriptions, location names - all of that seems to only be available in Chinese.

Bummer, but the parts I can play are intriguing enough to not refund, in hopes the dev pushes forward and provides an actual translated version.

Amazing tribute to classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Great visuals, challenging but rewarding gameplay and puzzles, but absolutely horrible voice acting. Specifically, the main character...which makes it a little hard to take the story seriously, but that's really my only complaint.

A thoroughly fun metroidvania, with a charming cast, an interesting death mechanic, lots of collectibles and upgrades, great retro art, and a several catchy chiptunes.

For $20, this is an absolute steal. You should probably go ahead and just get it.

Early Access Review
I have always loved speed runners, and this game nails some of the most important aspects of that genre:
1. Quick restarts upon death
2. Tight, responsive, simple controls
3. Naturally escalating difficulties of goals, ie. just finish -> finish with all collectibles -> finish under certain time -> finish no deaths

I can't wait to see and play more of this!

I've had this on my wishlist for awhile, and was really excited to see it come down in price! I love challenging RPGs, and good co-op experiences seem to be increasingly hard to find.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to keep it. The performance is bad enough to make it unplayable for me. Not just a little bad, but abysmal. Even if, like me, you're the kind of person who doesn't mind dropping from 4k to 1440p, if it means you can keep a consistent frame rate, that still isn't enough. After lowering settings, cutting the resolution by half, and trying various fixes posted by other users trying to salvage performance, I still couldn't keep a consistent, stutter-free framerate. Add on top of that all of the other unpolished aspects around visuals, sound effects, models, etc., it tipped the scales too far. I don't mind a simpler, stylized look - especially if the game is older (I love old GCN titles) - but it can't look like this WHILE ALSO running worse than Cyberpunk.

I came back to the store page to check and see if I had misread that maybe it was an Early Access game, but it isn't. I'll be happy to check it out if they end up addressing any of the issues, and will definitely watch for future projects!

One of the most brilliant, moving game experiences I've had in a long time. Art direction, sound design, writing, and personality abound.

It's not hard mechanically, necessarily, but it doesn't hold your hand, and you should go into it with proper expectations. There are some frantic parts, but no weapons, no upgrades - just mystery, exploration, and wonder. I absolutely loved it, and would 10/10 look up and dream at the night sky again.

I had been looking forward to this, and it has a TON of potential. Unfortunately, it's just too buggy and unpolished.

UI is kind of clunky. The camera is a bit awkward, and doesn't seem to have any acceleration to it. My Xbox controller moves the camera if the stick isn't perfectly centered at rest (maybe there just isn't any deadzone to it.) Bloom can add some nice ambiance, but wow the difference between Off and On - it's a choice between flat vs anything that reflects/emits light going supernova.

Combat/movement is floaty. Enemy targeting/attacking is all over the place. Ran to a Level Quest right outside of the first town and killed a lvl 45 robot, which dropped a level 45 shield. I was able to equip the shield, even though the level number in my inventory was red (maybe it just doesn't provide the bonuses if you don't meet the level requirements...?). Then I got one-shot by another of the lvl 45s in that Level quest area. Feels like that shouldn't be 30 seconds of running from where you start.

Also, seeing things like how my sword has a "0% chance" to do something. It still procs sometimes, so I don't know if that's because it's a sub 1% and I'm lucky, or if that percentage just isn't being calculated correctly.

They are trying to do a lot, lot of stuff here. Conceptually, it's great, and I love the love letter to some of my favorite classic games, and how the developers are obviously like-minded when it comes to great video games. Right now, it just feels like maybe that's a bit ambitious for either the resources, or time allotted, to release this title.
