With these lines, Steins;Gate welcomes us if you're familiar with the anime, you'll know what to expect, if you're completely unfamiliar with the series, tighten your seatbelts because you're about to go on one of the most dramatic adventures in animanga history.

The protagonist of the story is Okabe Rintaro, also known as Hououin Kyouma.
This guy is surely one of the most eccentric and weird types of men. He's a college student who lives the imaginary life of a mad scientist. Always trying to find new inventions to add to his arsenal. Along with him, there are a variety of different characters. Otaku and super hacka Itaru Hashida, Shiina Mayori a childhood friend, Makise Kurisu a tsundere genius girl, Amane Suzuha an energetic tomboy girl, enigmatic girl Kiryu Moeka, cute and kind boy! Urashibara Luka, and last but not least, flirty cat-maid Faris NyanNyan. These are the characters who make up the main cast. Of course we play as Okabe and try to invent a time machine to satisfy his hidden persona—nothing serious—but along the way we learn nothing is as it seems and the plot thickens. The story is full of drama and conspiracies. In order to not spoil important plot points, I'm stopping here.

The gameplay is too simple; you're supposed to read the dialogues and, at times, respond to messages. Simply put, this is classic visual novel gameplay, yet instead of choosing dialogue options, we choose how to respond to messages via phone, and these messages and replies are the only things that controls the flow of the game. So beware of how to respond to every message. I suggest that in your first play, you choose however you wish, and after you finish the game once, try to use the story guide to reach the other endings. In total, there are six different endings, and that's a very good thing, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

To sum up, Steins;Gate is unquestionably one of the most beautifully written and moving visual novels of all time.
You can't go wrong with it, whether you're new to the genre or a veteran, or even if you're coming from anime.
With its fantastic story, eccentric and well-written characters, and remarkable soundtrack, it's an instant classic.
