Yes, I do not recommend this game.

The plot is really strong, including the characters. I discussed it with other people after playing it because the story raises important philosophical issues and presents situations in which I myself would not know how to act.

But playing this game for the sake of the story is painful. It's better to watch a retelling of the plot with cutscenes or the recent TV series. There's nothing interesting here in terms of gameplay for someone who plays games regularly. It's possible that the gameplay is simply outdated, since the original was released 12 years ago. But overall, it's too boring, tedious, and long.

Okay, it was really funny and entertaining. It's been a long time since I've played something so diverse and entertaining with another person. Even singleplayer games don't provide the player with such a diverse gameplay experience as this little masterpiece.

The only thing is, the plot is completely insane, how could they write such maniacal characters? It's genius and terrifying.

I played it with my wife, who isn't a super skilled gamer (we played Baldur's Gate 3 together, and in her free time she plays House Flipper), but she really handled most of the platforming challenges - I'm proud of her. So don't be afraid to bring your significant other along, hand them a controller, and start playing It Takes Two.

I consider the last two God of War games to be the gold standard for story-driven action RPGs.

It's very rare that I feel like there's nothing I want to remove or add to a game, but that's exactly how I felt about God of War (2018) and this one, God of War Ragnarok.

You are constantly in a state of flow, because the game regularly throws something new at you, but it doesn't do so agressively and doesn't throw everything on you at once, as open world games do. I really like the concept of small open locations and metroidvania elements - I've loved it since the Batman Arkham series, and God of War satisfies me completely in this regard.

To be honest, after remembering Batman Arkham, I realize that God of War has a lot in common with it: both in terms of gameplay and narrative, including the main plot, secondary characters, and lore. I think many will agree with me (if we disregard the fact that Ragnarok is more naive and childish in places).

Strangely, I don't really want to talk about how Ragnarok has changed in terms of gameplay compared to its prequel, except for one thing: the very vivid and beautiful nature. Vanaheim is an incredibly beautiful world. I like that even the old worlds have been given a liveliness that makes you want to look at them and take pictures: all kinds of turtles, mushroom-shaped little people, deer, monkeys - the world feels alive.

In general, I really love this game and highly recommend playing both God of War (2018) and Ragnarok.

P.S.: And it was also the best sunflowers (100% achievements in both games) of my life.

mamma mia... It's really THE GAME

The Game that does everything well, from the narrative to the gameplay mechanics.
I didn't notice the time passing while I was playing it at all, because the game is constantly throwing something new at you: you are either interested in continuing because of the story or because of new gameplay mechanics - it is simply constant rollercoaster, which does nothing but speed up.

Moreover, because of a certain interest in Scandinavian mythology, we went through the game together with my wife (she just sat near to me and watched how I played), she had never played such games before, and in general is not immersed in the world of video games, but she was absolutely thrilled. She also spoilered me and myself with a plot twist, as she decided to explore the Scandinavian gods a bit more to get more immersed in the game.

All in all, the game is so incredible that I got all the achievemnts - the game deserved it.
My hand was already even reaching to start NG+, but I stopped myself.

Not only does the player play the game, but the game plays the player

If there is any next level of categorization of interactive art, this is it.
You see, Tunic is above games and greater than games, even though it is still a game. Not only does the player play the game, but the game plays the player (if you've played Inscryption, Pony Island, MiSide, DokiDoki, you'll understand to some extent).
An experiential experience that can't be replicated and can't be described - you have to try it yourself, not listen or watch others do it.

P.S.: Wanted to 100% too, but, well, I'm already learning a different language

The atmosphere in this artwork is so thick that it thickens into a dense fog.

Each time I launched the game, I wanted to turn it off quickly, to get out and do something more pleasant, but not because it scares you with screamers, but because the game creates an unpleasant atmosphere with its surroundings, sounds, music, lighting and psychology.

But besides the atmosphere, with every hour of playthrough, more and more questions pop up: “who has gone crazy here and in whose head are we in?”, because everything around is infused with some psychological traumas, though you will never know the whole truth until the very end. And that's what makes the game so powerful - it makes you feel other people's sins, fears and pain.

As for the gameplay, I'll say an unexpected thing - it reminds me of The Last of Us in its pacing and slowness of action. Of course, the shooting in Silent Hill is not the same, rather more clumsy, as the main character is not trained to shoot at all, and the enemies here are not people.
But the puzzles are really something special, that makes you use your mind intensively and it's obviously on a level higher than the first and second Resident Evil. Though I'll admit honestly that I didn't see the logic in some of the riddles and had to google the solution.

“Love and care for each other so that guilt will never pull you into Silent Hill.” (с)

Incredible game with a really deep and interesting world and lore, but unfortunately the game is not about the world and lore at all, although it tries to be.

It's a very good detective, it's interesting and addictive not only with its plot, but also with the questions the world leaves you with - and it will leave them that way. Having played through the game and seen several endings, I was left disappointed that the developers potentially explain all the events of the game that can't be explained very simply. Or maybe it's me who loves conspiracy theories, so I'm hoping there are some unsolved mysteries in this game. Or there will be a sequel?

Insanely unique game by Dontnod, which makes it even more unique. It's really beautiful and chilling, not long, which makes it perfect to play during one-two evenings after a hard day.
