This is everything I wanted in a Castlevania style platformer.
Combat style is comparable to Salt and Sanctuary or Volgarr the Viking.

If you took Robotron and beat it over the head with Gauntlet you would basically have this, I think?
I like it. Fun local cooperative. Great visuals, good audio, everything is pretty smooth.

Cheesy, explosive, and actually pretty difficult!
From what I've seen I haven't even unlocked cool stuff yet and I'm having a blast.
Fantastic game to co-op with your wife.

My only complaint is that enemies will occasionally "web" you and slowly drain your health and there's nothing you can do because you have no line of sight. I think this happens when a spider shoots web over an object and it falls on you. A little janky.

PROS

• This game is absolutely brutal \m/
  
• Though it's in Early Access, I would almost consider it full-featured already (definitely still some major fixes/additions I'm waiting on)
  
• Astoundingly detailed character health/skills/personality/mood - love it. Like The Sims "needs" system with Dwarf Fortress injuries and equipment.
  
• Weather, seasons, temperature
  
• Mods up the butt!
  
• Random occurrances such as pirate raids, visitors, heatwaves, rabid animals, and toxic smog keep the game interesting
  
• If you don't take care of them, colonists go berserk and start murdering their own -- just like in the USA!
  
• Pets <3 (it's really something special when your colonists run around naked and yell at trees because their cat died)
  
• Prisons and prisoner recruiting and organ harvesting

MEH

• The game world only exists in 2 dimensions. As a result, resources can be much scarcer than in Dwarf Fortress and similar games. Mining only gets you so far, then you need to sell crops, animals, art, or people to trade for things like steel and gold. This would be alright, except you've no idea how long you may need to wait before someone willing to trade comes along with the resources you want.

CONS

• One wrong click in combat and your dudes will straight murder eachother. A friendly fire toggle with some kind of simple combat AI would be nice. All I want is for the colonist with the shotgun to take a step to the side before splattering friendly melons everywhere!

I don't really understand the hate this game gets from a lot of people. I'm really enjoying it.

Harder to git gud at than Dark Souls.

So fun! So comfy!
This game satisfied my need to abandon everything and raise goats in the countryside.
Do yourself a favor and don't read too much about events in the game before playing them.

Dungeon delving is as difficult as you want to make it for yourself. It's easiest if you stock up on cheese and bombs.

A "season" is 28 days. Screwed myself early on by not knowing that.

Wife has moods, gets angry just like my real wife!
You can just ignore your baby until they're old enough to interact with!

Con: I like the pixel art (reminiscent of Chrono Trigger, et al.), but I find it off-putting that a lot of objects animate by smoothly growing/shrinking, which creates "pixels" of varying aspects and sizes. Fishing line also appears as a thin, 1 *real* pixel line from the bobber to the pole, something that mars the retro feel for me since it wouldn't be possible at a low resolution.

It's basically Blood Money. Not as fun, but it's good. Runs very well on a GTX 1070.
That may seem obvious, but Assassin's Creed Black Flag still manages to run like ♥♥♥♥.

Fun game. Run from safe room to safe room shooting zombies in the face with scoped rifles.

The dev team did a fantastic job by quickly addressing community complaints when this came out last year.

Play with friends. Playing alone is pretty boring.
