Pretty wild. I'm mostly happy with it.
Main scenario is fairly short but very repayable.
Fun, high pressure city building. The circular build grid is pretty interesting as it encourages some real forward thinking about building and road placement. The pressure is always on for you to stockpile more resources while maintaining quality of life for your citizens. I really enjoy the decision making events that occur from time to time.

Cons:
Certain events don't seem to work correctly. Specifically, "heat x homes." If they're all heated when this pops up, you can't seem to succeed even if everyone has comfortable heat.

The "tutorial" is just a series of mostly useless help pages that unlock as you encounter or require different features. Not great. I had to watch the first minute of a walkthrough just to get my bearings.

The game has been crashing for me as well. Seems to happen most often on a load or quit, and I did have one corrupted save, but none of these have been a huge impediment.

Thought I was getting cheapo HuniePop but WOW this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.
This is the first time I've found a game's content to be problematic.
This is some real low rent incel garbage.

This is Ace Combat the way I like it. Best game since Shattered Skies. Everything I loved about Ace Combat 4 is back.

It's been roughly two days since release. Yes, HOTAS support is currently broken on most sticks. It's being addressed. Cry me a river. It's an action game anyway and probably best played with a DS4 or Xbox 360 controller. My HOTAS is for space sims and flight simulators.

Regarding bad keyboard controls, really? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Gamepads are cheap.

I like the clouds! They force you to use your HUD, your radar, and your gun. Use half your brain for ten seconds. They add depth to the scene and make the play space more interesting. If you find them overly frustrating, you need to calm the ♥♥♥♥ down and learn to be at peace with occasional failure.

What you see is pretty much what you get.
Definitely our favorite VR game. Good exercise, super easy to learn.
Strong modding community keeps everything fresh and fun.

Try playing with wrist weights. :)

Really fantastic game with a jank level somewhere between S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and VtM: Bloodlines.
If you like Freelancer, FireFly/Serenity, or Armada (Dreamcast) check it out.

This game throws you into a nightmare of your own creation. Use space, plan ahead, do your homework! Watching your organized factories turn into a giant, convoluted mess and then having to optimize them is hell, but I love it.

tl;dr

Do you like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night?
"Yes" -> Smash "Add to Cart"
"I haven't played SotN" -> Acquire it. Play it.
"No" -> Don't talk to me or my son ever again.

Review

It was worth the wait.

Timespinner is first and foremost a love letter to the SNES and PS1 golden years of metroidvania. You could bring this back in time to 1997 and nothing would really seem out of place. It feels natural, not nostalgic for nostalgia's sake. Bodie Lee worked on this game for over 9 years and it shows. This is a great example of what a successful Kickstarter project can be. (looking at you, Might No 9)

This game is polished. Lee has included features like scene skipping, New Game+, borderless fullscreen, and the ability to fully remap controls. Audio volumes can all be controlled by type, with an additional master volume slider. Video settings give you the option of selecting a pixel perfect resolution or fitting to your full screen (not stretched, just not as crisp).

Composer, Jeff Ball, has created an incredible soundtrack that stands on its own while being reminiscent of Symphony of the Night.

I have one complaint. Nightmare difficulty is not available from the start, but has to be unlocked.--- Edit: It can be unlocked early with a password.

Approximate play time is 8 hours. You can probably get all the achievements in 12 without a guide.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible. This is now my favorite Far Cry game, beating out the original.

Seen a lot of people complain about the ending. I thought it was amazing.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game.
Imagine the jank and depth of Morrowind combined with a D&D style combat system.

There is an incredibly frustrating tendency to mis-click on terrain because of wild enemy animations, so you end up wasting a turn by moving when you meant to attack. Stupid!
Crafting could be better.

BAM is my favorite game right now, and not just in VR.
Controls work really well on Vive. Guns are pretty satisfying and pretty much behave how they should.
Online community is a little sparse from what I've seen, but there's almost always someone to play with.
