I don't quite see how there is potential for continued play value after the first completion.

I may have only played what, seventeen hours? But in that short time frame, I discovered various different ways to kill the ..monsters, glitches to duplicate items, acquired god mode through an interesting glitch, built numerous bases, a floating base, acquired all items and beat the game..?

I tried to do a second run through but I did not want to go through the tedium of chopping trees and lugging logs over to my "base location". A quick speed run through acquiring only the necessities and a second completion was done in no time.

The game is great, don't get me wrong. I love building and exploring style games. But the replay value isn't quite there yet. I wonder what else they will add to the game as time progresses. Only time will tell.

It is alright.

Not good but not bad. Decent enough in its current form to play a couple hours with friends but that is about it. I'm sure as more updates come out and more modes, maps and weapons are introduced, the game will improve.

The graphics are very nice and the weapon sounds are on point.

Dayz. To simply put it, this game is a love/hate relationship.

I don't mind the mindless running searching for a weapon and then more running to find the specific ammo type. But the bugs and crashes are quite unforgiving.

You'll have some intense gunfights and survive only to have the game crash and your character being dead upon reboot. Buy it only if its on sale and at a good price. It's not a bad game, really. Just not that good at the moment..?

My fondest memory of playing this was my first time spawning in and breaking both my legs when closing a door. Fun times.

I initially purchased this game due to nostalgic throwbacks to warz/iss after watching some gameplay and wanted to experience some old moments once again (excluding the migraine inducing sheer rage moments caused by Sergei and Artemis).

After downloading the game and loading into a server, I was pleased to see the same antics players did back in warz were being utilized in Xera. However, after wandering around for a couple hours and exploring the map, there really isn't much to do.

The towns are empty.
The majority of buildings that you'd want to get into to setup a nice ambush or have a vantage point are inaccessible.
The buildings that you can get into such as houses are bare and empty with a bag of chips in the corner or a can of soda upstairs in the closet.
The main city is generic with absolutely no reason to go there. No loot worth mentioning, minimal AI, no players.
Don't curse. Seriously. My buddy called me a ♥♥♥♥ in chat and was instantly banned.
The ATV, the only vehicle in the game is buggy.
  • Stuck on a pebble? Can't get out.
  • Hit a hescos near the roadblock? Get catapulted into the air and experience being challenger 2.0.
  • Have a player with a 1911 sneeze on you? Explode into a ball of furious flaming hilarity.
  • Engage a team of 3-5 players and gotta get the hell outta dodge cause you goofed your opener? Too bad since the ATV has a mind of its own and will only go 2.5mph resulting in the initial confusion getting you killed and teabagged.

Player interaction i.e. pvp is regulated to around safe zones or at the airport and/or military base. Only areas worth looting are airport and military (with an occasional visit to the roadblocks). Compound "event" is pointless since the moment the fist turns red (indicating someone is there and it is in progress) you will have multiple people whether teamed or solo camp outside on the hills until you are finished looting to murder your face the moment you step outside and turn the area into a mini battle royal while everyone scrambles to get to your corpse. (No joke the first time this happened, the sheer volume of rounds hitting my ragdolling corpse from every direction made me think of murphys execution scene from the original Robocop)

Airdrops are an interesting addition. Usually results in players setting up an ambush point near a dropped crate and raping your face as you wait the ten seconds to open it. (I did it too. Its easy loot.)

I had a run in with what I thought was a cheater. Teleporting around to better flanking positions, getting the drop on me from the complete opposite direction from which I initially engaged him/her. Turns out it wasn't a cheater but the developer himself *drum roll* JOSHUA.
This person is quite full of himself with an arrogant attitude. When called out on it, he denied everything and told me I quote "if you don't like it refund the game" then proceeded to spam "LUL" to my further complaints. I'm actually surprised I wasn't banned.

I know its early access and the general issues I currently have with the game will be worked on in the near future(will it?). But after my experience with the lead honcho himself, I highly doubt this game will progress far. Infestation: Survivor Stories is a polished masterpiece compared to this steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥. (This is the only "praise" you'll ever get from me Sergei. ♥♥♥♥ you Artemis. Kill yourself)

To anyone who sees this review, I highly recommend you stay away from this game. Purchasing this game is a crime against humanity and you deserve to be shot if you do so.

Hey look, a developer response!

Sigh. JOSHUA... JOSHUA... Oh JOSHUA...

At the very least spend a few minutes writing an actual response instead of lazily ctrl+a, ctrl+c and ctrl+v-ing.

I didn't say "you wanted to kill me so that you can say you killed a dev." To those reading, scroll up to where I said "I'm actually surprised I wasn't banned." That is due to me stringing and combining a multitude of obscenities that would've made Clint Eastwood blush and ask me out to dinner. I guess there is something positive to say about you, JOSHUA.

However, since i'm bothering with editing a posted review, I might as well add a bit more information to help my fellow gamers not be lead astray. Lets have a look at some negative reviews to reduce the amount of searching needed to come to a conclusion on whether you should buy this game or not.



Now, lets have a look at some of these shill positive reviews.


Did you really just say that Xera: Survival is a mix of Escape from Tarkov, DayZ, WarZ and Nether?

Okay. Please explain to me how this game is within/in/near/considered? the same catagory as Tarkov? It seems to be lacking:

  • Hardcore first-person shooter
  • In-depth weapon modding which still to this day, no game has come close to replicating
  • A variety of items. (Don't take the word variety lightly. There are several hundred items to mod the numerous amount of weapons to your liking. You will spend 5-20 minutes modding your gun (so you can lose it ten seconds into spawning :D)
  • Inventory management
  • Skill leveling and weapon mastery
  • Player driven global market
  • Extend this bullet list down about twenty more points. I'm stopping here so I can continue to berate you.

How is this game in any way, shape or form related to DayZ and all the memories it created? (Not standalone. That ♥♥♥♥ is a flaming dumpster fire).

Warz was fun the first two weeks. Game quickly fell to ♥♥♥♥ courtesy of yours truly, Sergei.
Nether is a completely different game. Doesn't fit into anythinig here.

Get the hell out of here with your shill review. How much did you get paid to post this? Fifteen shekels?

Now i'm going to assume with you having used the word "probably", you're undecided on whether this is the most fun you've ever had gaming in years. However, if you actually meant that, you need to save more than $20 my man and check out some A rated games instead of sticking wth the B's and C's.

"This game is extremely addictive and fun to play!"

You know what else is extremely addictive and fun to do? Jerking off with a cheese grater and finishing the climax with some steel wool.


Look, i'm not saying that some people didn't enjoy and have fun with this game. But what I am saying is that the reviews were really funny to read.

Please, for the love of god my fellow gamers, steer clear of this game. There are plenty of other games to spend your hard earned money on. Games more deserving than this.

Been with the game since the beginning and am still to this day enjoying every bit of it regardless of some less than desirable changes but alas, things come and go.

This game is a high 9/10 from me and I highly recommend you try it out if you're on the fence. Step away from that aging game Minecraft and enjoy a finer more refined version with the only limiting factor in this game being your imagination as the things you can do and build are endless. Guaranteed thousands of hours of enjoyment!

I'd love to give this review a thumbs up since this game is very deserving of it however, the community is a major part of any game and said community in this game is very unpleasant when it comes to discussing topics.

Anything negative even remotely minor in being is met with extreme hostility which most of the time is uncalled for and unnecessary. I've not seen such fanaticism outside of Reddit and was genuinely surprised when attempting to share suggestions, potential changes, etc in the Steam discussion section as well as the official website. Give it a go as an observer and browse the general discussions section for a few days and see for yourself. I find it more pleasant and enjoyable discussing politics with the most hard headed of people than dealing with the majority of people on these forums.

Other than that, 9/10 as mentioned at the beginning of my review. The game is a blast!!

I wrote this review with more of a head in the sand approach as I didn't want to post the usual spiel of omg early access 10+ years wtf, etc. Yes, the game has its problems -- quite a few. Some new and some old/legacy ones (10+ years later). Though with its faults, the game can still be enjoyed to an extent (with mods). With the devs losing sight of their original vision and the slew of nonsensical updates, etc etc et al, i'd honestly give it a 5.5/10. But as I said, this game is still fun and can be enjoyed thoroughly (when overlooking some of the more annoying bugs).

Steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥.

Not to mention greed in its absolute purest form radiating off of anything with the label PUBG. The game had potential but it was all thrown away after the physical manifestation of one of the deadly sins into our world i.e. the developers.

CS:GO 评测
I purchased this game on release day and played it for about three hours. It was absolute crap and I uninstalled it.

Fast forward just about one year and my friend recommended I try it again. Well, i've got to say that the game has come a long way and has vastly improved from it's release version.

The game is basically 1.6 with improved graphics and mechanics. While it still needs work in many areas, the current state of the game is highly enjoyable and worth the mediocre price of $14.99.

If you're a long time CS player like me (Beta 1) and don't have this game yet, add me to your friends list and we'll reminisce about the old days and maybe i'll throw a copy your way.

Coming back to edit the review many years later, CSGO has gone free to play and has improved a lot over the years. Glad to see the game is still kicking strong.
