Bioshock plays like an award-winning movie. The time and thought put into every aspect of the game combine to make it awesome.

It's such a rich world despite it being in such an apocalyptic state. The attention to detail, like the box office signs being in both English and Cyrillic, really hone into the era it's set in and truly enhances the gameplay. The atmosphere is tangible. I get goosebumps when I hear spider splicers clinking around above me, their calls echoing through the leaking corridors. I hesitate in dark areas, sneak around corners; it's so easy to lose yourself in the world of Rapture. This quality makes it one of my uncontested favorites.

From the opening scene with the plane and the tower and everything I just kept saying that it was beautiful, it was and is stunning. The journey down to the first bathysphere and everything is so epic. Someone said this about Last Of Us but I feel it fits Bioshock also "It's like playing the through the best movie you've ever seen". The characters are dynamic and there is an amazing plot with amazing twists.

The first Bioshock is art. It's a masterpiece and will always have an enduring legacy in video games, like The Godfather or Citizen Kane do in film.
