I never play idle games. Ropuka's Island changed that. How could I turn down such an adorable fellow?? Whether you listen to the music or not, little Ropuka is quite a cute companion to share your desktop with. He's just doing the best job at cutting grass.

Bad North is a cute and satisfying strategy game. Easy to learn, scaling difficulty, pleasing sound effects. A little repetitive, but in a good way that allows you to perfect your tactics, instead of feeling like you're grinding eternally.

A very satisfying and charming little game. Excellent sound design, very crisp and satisfactory. The puzzles are the perfect balance and blend between challenging and purely gratifying. Cute graphics; personally, the sketchy illustrated appearance adds to the appeal of the game.

The only negative is that the base level achievements include all of the DLC achievements as well, so you can't 100% the game without also purchasing the optional DLC.

Unless you have a photographic memory, the game also has a decent replayability factor if you really like organizing things (I do). The addition of ever-varying Daily Tidies factors into this as well, and I'd enjoy seeing another Seasonal Tidy.

Early Access Review
(Reviewing while in Early Access) If you've played Hades, you will enjoy Hades II. Rogue-like gameplay, controls, artwork, and strategies are all similar enough to the first game to provide comfortable familiarity, but the story, enemies, new gods/companions, and addition of an unlockable secondary path, make Hades II feel like a true updated sequel and not just a re-skin of the original.

While the story is connected to the original Hades, I wouldn't say it's necessary to have played the first game to enjoy Hades II.

Deep Rock Galactic is a very fun Run & Gun type game to play. Playing with friends is most enjoyable and really makes the game, but they've made their solo mode fun as well with BOSCO the drone companion, so even if you're playing alone you don't feel like you have to slough through everything.

The four dwarf classes are nicely balanced, each contributing a different strength to the team without one overpowering the rest.

DRG's choice to make all previous seasons available for replay/cosmetic unlock has certainly increased the replayability factor for me. More perks would be nice, as right now I have so many perk points with nothing to spend them on, since my friends and I have unlocked every perk at the terminal, but that doesn't detract from overall gameplay. Currently working on getting gold tier promotions for each of my dwarves.

My first 29.3 hours of game play were consecutive.

(176 hours and a completed play through at time of edit) This game was clearly crafted with so much care, love, and intention. The voice acting is superb and really does wonders for the script writing and storytelling, truly engulfing you in the world of Baldur's Gate. Party members have their own opinions, feelings, personalities, and really feel like fleshed out people as part of a team rather than characters to help move the plot of the chosen one along.
I initially bought this game because I wanted to get to know the characters, as party member interactions and friendships are my favourite aspect of RPGs (thank you, Mass Effect) and my expectations were definitely met, if not exceeded.

Gameplay itself feels like a true digital interpretation of a tabletop D&D session, in my experience. If you're familiar with D&D already, the equipment rules, combat turns, and skill checks will feel natural, and if you're unfamiliar with D&D they are simple enough to catch on to. The "trickiest" thing I had to get used to was controlling the camera angles on my keyboard, that's about it.

The world inside Baldur's Gate 3 is the most unrestricted RPG world I've been in. While you have your journal to keep track of your quests, you can do as much or as little exploring outside of the main quest as you'd like (which can impact your storyline and character relationships). Your character can be as mean or as nice as you prefer, you can attack literally anyone, recruit surprising party members, or go it alone. You have control over practically every aspect of your part in the story whether it be order of interactions, accepting quests or not, class-, race-, or region-specific dialogue options, it truly feels as if Baldur's Gate is in your hands.

I'm already plotting my next playthrough.

It's achievement bloating only. Bought it out of stupidity and curiosity because of a Steam coupon and now I'm still trying to un-affiliate it from my account.

This is a nice, relaxing puzzle game with a nice narrative that you get to watch unfold with completion of each level. The Chinese shadow puppetry art style is what initially drew me to this game, and each level is gorgeous and vibrant.

Some of the level goals aren't easily discernible at first, so sometimes part of the challenge is figuring out *what* to do instead of just how to complete it.

There is no level select option, so your only option is to play whichever level is current on your save slot. This isn't too bad, except when going back through for the achievements; if you miss the achievement on level 36 and don't restart the level before level 37 loads, you have to play the whole game back over to get to that point (and with 41 levels, that gets tedious).

I wouldn't pay $13.99 for it again, but I do appreciate the effort that was put into the art design. If you're considering this, maybe wait until it goes on sale, but I still would (soft) recommend.
