So I've almost completed this and these are my honest thoughts.

QUBE is a first person puzzle game, where you have several different kinds of colored cubes you can manipulate which are usually atached to the walls. Every color is sort of a different mechanic. It starts off in a chamber where you wake up with no memory of yourself and a lady kind of explains the situation. At certain places in each chapter some narrative takes place in the form of people speaking to you through a com link and that's generally how the game tells its story.

The Good
The narrative is surprisingly enjoyable and the voice actors do a good job for most of the time. The story is a bit simple, but kind of interesting. Unfortunately the pros end there.

The Bad
For a puzzle game I went in expecting something that would make me think, QUBE didn't. The puzzles were simple and easy throughout the whole game. Most of them were actually frustrating and not because they were hard, but because of the clunky gameplay and overall design. The whole game feels sluggish. Usually when you look at a puzzle you see the solution rather quick, but it will take some time and frustration to successfully solve it because of how the whole thing is designed. The concept is good, but the execution is bad. There are gamebraking glitches every now and then too. When a certain part of a puzzle bugs ut it just forces you to restart the whole thing. Last but not least, it's really short, I'm on the final chapter and you can see how much time it took me.

I wish I enjoyed this, but I didn't. I cannot write a positive review in good conscious. To sum it up: QUBE is slow, frustrating, clunky and easy.

It's fun, addicting and feels really smooth overall. For a small looking game it's actually brimming with content. You got a campaign, challenges, multiplayer, co-op, tons of weapons, armors, items etc. The only negative side is the controls are funky, it'll take some getting used to.

A stellar re-imagining of the original Half Life, vastly improved and expanded. If you're a Half Life fan this is the best way to experience the wonder that the original Half Life gave you when you first played it. If you're a newcomer to the series it's an amazing way to start your journey through the games.

Early Access Review
I honestly can't recommend this, it's slow, small, empty and just not that much fun. It takes ages to gather resources needed to craft things. In my opinion the amount of time it takes to accomplish things isn't beneficial to the game itself. It becomes stale and boring rather quick. There is a very big lack of variety as well although it can be expected in early access.

For now it's a no from me, the overall pace is sluggish and it lacks any depth. I doubt I'll enjoy it even when and if this gets finished. I'll probably give it another go in some time and if things are improved might change this review.

The game itself can be enjoyable, however there are a bunch of things holding it back:

- The camera control is super clunky and sluggish, no way to rotate too.

- No speed-up time feature, you have to watch the ball slowly make its way to the end every time, if you failed too bad you're gonna waste your time just sitting there watching the ball again.

- Every time you place something you gotta click on inventory to open it then click on the thing, over and over, doesn't matter if you're gonna place the same kind of gadget. It sounds minor, but gets irratating after playing for like 15 minutes.

- Sometimes the ball would stop moving for no reason, and you have to reset the level and watch it slowly make its progress again.

- Gadgets glitch out and you can't click on them after reseting the ball, so what you need to do is reset the whole level and place every gadged again.

- The ball is constantly slow-ish, no matter if it goes through speed boosts.

- There is no indicator of how far the ball will be thrown by some of the gadgets, so you're left experimenting until you get it right, not because the puzzle is hard, but because the game failes to give you useful information.

- First 30 or so puzzle were really easy, don't know if they become hard at some point, but I personally don't have the patience to play anymore.

That being said, the game can be enjayable for those with patience and high tolerance. I personally won't play much more and can't recommend it because of the reasons stated above.

I just finished this plus the DLC and I have to say I enjoyed it quite a lot. It is an amazing FPS experience with a lot more to it than other big FPS games, it's pretty long, with a lot of stuff for you to play around with.

I get that numerous people have had technical problems in the past, but most of them didn't at all apply to me, even the infamous texture pop-in wasn't present in my case, with some of the settings tweaked. Even my potato (GT635M) could handle the game at most graphical options high without dropping bellow 35-40FPS.

I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, fresh, FPS experience. It's sad that the game was plagued by numerous technical issues upon launch and most people just gave up on it. Just don't go in expecting a more actiony version of Fallout, instead appreciate the effort put into all the different little details and you're gonna have a good time. This isn't an open world game and is quite linear despite giving you the freedom to explore the wasteland. Think of it as an open linear game if that makes sense and I doubt you're going to be disappointed.

I'm honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this considering I'm a hardcore fan of the previous games. I would lie if I said it wasn't fun, alone or with a friend.

This isn't what previous games in the franchise were, this isn't a horror game and it isn't as nearly as tactical as the previous games, but and this is a bit but, I had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of fun. If this game simply wasn't called FEAR I can assure you it would have been received with much more positive reviews.

I grew up with FPS games like FEAR, Half Life, Doom, Quake etc., I love corridor-ish FPS games, I don't mind them being linear, sure it's nice when they have more open levels and more than one approach to a given situation, but I don't really mind linearity as long as the gameplay is good. I love running forward and shooting stuff in games, sure it would have been nice to a true successor to FEAR, but I'm not going to let my fanboism be in the way of me enjoying this.

PROS
*Fun gunplay
*Great with friends
*Bloody and gory as hell
*Action feels satisfying
*Not scary, but definitely atmospheric
*Two characters to play, very different too
*The whole campaign can be played in co-op and in addition there are some bonus game modes
*Visually appealing and should run even on weaker systems
*Contrary to what most people say I found the AI to be pretty alright

CONS
*For the most part linear (doesn't bother me)
*Not that scary
*Story went to ♥♥♥♥
*CGI cutscenes are baaaaad
*Voice acting is questionable
*Can get repetitive if you play alone
*The occasional invisible wall
EDIT:
*Ending is ♥♥♥♥
*Really anticlimactic final interval

I had fun guys, I love FPS games, I didn't mind what most people dislike and both me and my friend had a lot of fun, we plan on finishing this together. It is not a bad game, on the contrary, a lot of fun if you get over the fact it isn't a true FEAR game.
