I'm enjoying my time with this game. Just be aware there are some very annoying bugs, a particular one makes controller use almost impossible, and the game is clearly abandoned and no longer being fixed. At this price point however, and sometimes going as low as 2$ during a sale, I wouldn't fault it its' flaws too much.

Gameplay experience improved from the previous entries as haste boots are obtainable early on and nothing important is missable (tip: unequip edward's sword before doing the trials). I really do love the story with this series, it was a journey playing through it.

Being an old RPG maker game, the gameplay is definitely outdated, and I really dislike the map layouts, it's just full of dead ends everywhere forcing you to spend unnecessary amounts of time just walking around for no reason, even in towns. The story is really good though and drags you in. I played this a long time after I played the first in the series, so I had issues knowing what's where at the beginning of the game and having to rely on googling because the game seriously lacks guidance in that scenario, so my recommendation is if you liked it and want to continue the story, play them in succession, don't leave a long gap where you'll forget the map and what's where. I recommend the game on a discount.

The way the combat is designed makes this game unplayable, imho. I dunno about you but I have better things to do and play than repeat the same thing over and over again with zero progress, not due to lack of skill or anything like that just god awful controls and level design. I love Recettear to bits but this one definitely falls flat.
