If you can get around the constant deaths by friendly ordnance and connection failures (a lot of times while you're actively waiting for the extraction shuttle) then its an absolutely fantastic game
(the connection issues aren't really a thing anymore - at least not to the extent they the were)

had a game where I died 11 times to friendly fire :D I personally feel like they need to reduce friendly damage, because it can get infuriating sometimes

I played this game for about 13.5 hours previously, and I really enjoyed it. Great visuals, fluid combat and amazing customization.

Recently, however, I've run into a HUGE issue... Controller support.
This game is quite literally built around the use of a controller, it even brings up a prompt that to have the best and most enjoyable play-through, you should use a controller.

Previously, I used my Xbox Series controller with absolutely ZERO issue, but after picking the game back up, it straight just doesn't work anymore. Pressing the left thumb-stick brings up a giant on-screen keyboard and I cant even pause the game without hitting ESC on my keyboard. None of the other buttons work at all and it seems the camera is stuck in "fastas♥♥♥♥boi" mode. It's only "playable" with MaKB and I really don't want to play the game like that, because, at time of review, I JUST beat, at a nearly 100%, Fallen Order, using the same exact controller.

I might update the review if this issue gets fixed by the Devs before I figure it out myself but I spent a solid 2 hours online searching for a solution and nothing seems to work.


EDIT: I FIXED IT. for anyone having this issue, add the EA launcher as a non-steam game to your library and launch it from steam, this completely fixed my issue

like its basically doom but you play to the beat and have unlimited ammo ( you still gotta reload)

The music is ♥♥♥♥♥♥' fantastic and the higher your multiplier the more music you get. max it out at X16 (not very difficult) and you get the full audio with vocals

It slightly holds your hand by making the on beat shots and attacks a lil bassier and louder and you do less damage if you're off beat, so obviously it pays to have decent rhythm
(THOSE GIVING THIS A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE THEY CANT STAY ON BEAT.... SKILL ISSUE, LITERALLY GET GOOD)

It's genuinely fun

and it helps to headbang IRL lmao
keeps you on beat

I'm editing my original review i made in 2015.

This game is still so damn fun. it has an absolutely ABSURD amount of content and the customization is pretty much endless.

I'm going to leave my review as recommended even though its hard for me to recommend this game to new-coming players.

i say that because the game isn't very new player friendly from what i can tell. There is a lot that gets thrown at you from the start and seeing people join your game at MR 30+ start wiping every enemy off the face of the map can be, probably, a bit overbearing.

but i genuinely think if you want to get into this game, DO IT, its grindy, it can be really hard, but it is VERY gratifying to see your hard work pay off in this game.

Plus, its free and not a very large game, file wise, give it a shot.

The community sucks ♥♥♥♥. just like any other survival game... you run into someone, the WILL try to kill you for absolutely no reason other than "♥♥♥♥ that guy in particular"

I love it. The graphics a fairly decent for a relatively unknown game. the gameplay is smooth and it doesnt have a big impact an my machine ( then again i have a decent rig). all in all i give a 7/10 but really only because its still early access. once its fully released, i re-evaluate my rating and most likely give a better score ( also, the community is actually pretty good compared to the other post apocalyptic survival games. i.e H1Z1 were the players always KoS)

for the devs. i know its in alpha/ early access. so i thought id give my input. id like to have the function to open and loot trash cans and cabinets and drawers. as well as the ability to rebind keys, i find the default binding to be a bit odd.
