Story is great, very well done compared to BG2, gradually developed as any heroic tale should.
Mechanically gameplay doesn't reach the levels of absurdity and completely broken balance as in BG2, especially ToB which was to my opinion completely unplayable in certain boss fights.
All in all I'd recommend BG1 to anyone on a desired difficulty level.

very old, very rough. Throne of Bhaal is rushed imo. After completing the game I have a strong feeling that BG1>BG2 in every aspect.
