Hokko Life is a cute little game, similar to Animal Crossing.
It has everything; mining, farming, fishing and foraging! You even have a workshop where you can use little pieces to design furniture that you don't have the blueprint for or you cant find in the shop.
The villagers are similar to ones from Animal Crossing but besides their requests, I don't really see much interaction with them.

The progression for the game can be quite slow, and it's not always clear on what you need to do to progress further. It's a game where the merits really come into play, forcing you to do the tasks to get the merits in order to progress and unlock items. For example, I didn't realise I needed to unlock the bomb through merits to progress further in the mines and then be able to get to the red forest.

Sprinting in the game is quite useless as I think the walk speed is enough and there's areas where you can teleport to from basically anywhere, but sprinting is useful for merits. The sprint speed is quite quick but doesn't last long, making the merits harder and grindier to get.

The regrowth of trees is infinite unless you shovel the stumps out of the ground, and they don't take too long to regrow, the flowers and the grass take the same time to regrow. The stones/rocks in the mines spawn back in the next day which makes it easier to grind for stone, coal, etc.

The game can be quite misleading when it comes to using emotes (waving at villagers), I looked at the merits and found that I needed to wave at villagers, so I went to the settings and was told the emote wheel was F. I pressed/held F and nothing happened, leading me to believe I just hadn't progressed through the game enough, like how it is in Animal Crossing. I then researched it on google, just to find out the actual key was C.

I'd give this game an 8/10, but I wouldn't buy it at full price and rather when it's on a sale between 50-75%. It's not worth the full price, but it is a fun, enjoyable small game nonetheless.
