A terrific journey made from paranoia and terror. Isolation does a superb job in living up to its name, as you truly feel alone on a gigantic space station. Well, not really alone. There are things that want to get to you, and not just the Xenomorph. A sense of dread paired with wonderful graphics and atmosphere, and you have a horror game that will keep you focused on your surroundings at all times.

A game recommended for even non-horror fans. Greatly recommended for Alien fans.

A rare swing-and-a-miss by Volition. A game that isn't Saints Row, but sort of wants to be. There are Saints Row characters, with the game even confirming they're the same characters, but also says "No, they're different, because of...reasons." Probably because they wanted to make a new IP, but Deep Silver insisted it had a Saints Row flavor tied to it, because they just see dollar signs. Unfortunately for everyone, the game sucks.

All games are reptitive, but others take repitition to higher levels. This is one of those games. Get used to seeing the same few underground lair designs, because AoM can't get enough of throwing them at you. It's not even just the layouts that are the same, but also the textures, objects, etc. They're not even limited to side-quests, but you'll see the same damn lairs in the story, too.

Speaking of story, what story? They opted for a "Saturday morning cartoon" structure for their cutscenes and writing, but to a fault. There's nothing in the story that pulls you in, or makes you glad to fight for Mayhem. It's the most generic "Big bad has evil plans, laughs about it, gets stopped, is mildly annoyed, then moves onto the next plan" trope ever. You'll either never care, or only care for about 5 minutes.

It's open-world, but expect a rather small map. Definitely the smallest open-world map I've seen in years. Expect nothing interesting going on in the world, also. There are games that bring their worlds to life, but AoM makes sure you're always aware that you're not immersed. Sometimes (mostly at night) the city LOOKS cool, but that doesn't really matter in the long run.

There's nothing great or even good about the missions, side-missions, and activities. You either clear ANOTHER lair, time-trial in a car, time-trial on foot, clear out an outpost (like lairs, but ABOVE ground), and uhhh...that's all I remember. That should tell you something. Even if I'm missing one or two more things, everything I did remember is still as fun as watching paint dry. Oh, and those outposts? They only stay cleared for a limited time, and then it gets automatically taken back by enemies. Because that's not annoying or anything.

The agents themselves are probably the best part of the entire game, and even still, they're not written THAT well. You have old favorites like Johnny Gat (Pre-order DLC or stand-alone DLC, and is also a...cop?) and Pierce (Who now leads...the Vice Kings?). Then there's new ones like Daisy (a foul-mouthed, rockabilly roller-derby chick) and Hollywood (typical action movie hero), all with their own abilities and ultimate. You know, like a certain popular online shooter with a set of heroes with their own abilities and ultimates, except not as fun. Well, mostly. Gat's ult is actually really cool and OP as hell, which is (ULT SPOILERS AHEAD) him using dual pistols, getting aimbot, and shooting everyone all around him in different poses.

There are loot boxes scattered around the map, which give you random rewards. Certain colored boxes give better rewards, like new weapon, vehicle, and character skins. I actually spent a lot of time just farming loot boxes, as there are some neat looking skins. I mean, that's all there is about that. I guess I'm glad they decided on in-game/free loot boxes, and not ones you had to pay real money for. Soooo...put up a point for them on the scoreboard.

Combat isn't the best, but it's also not the worst. It feels responsive and smooth enough, and finding a flow isn't difficult. However, because some enemies are bullet sponges and many abilities lack a satisfying punch, it doesn't hold out too long before it becomes a slog.

Oh yeah, there's agency vehicles. A fair number of them, too. All with their own stats, but really, you only need to use the first one. They almost all feel the same. Don't even bother with civilian cars, either. They handle like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I paid around $35-$40 for this at launch, and feel it was still too much. I'd say a good price for this would be $5-$10, honestly. A massive disappointment from a Volition fan.

You wouldn't think a game like this would be enjoyable in the slightest, but you'd be wrong. It's one of the most relaxing games on Steam. Put on some music or a podcast in the background and just make a delivery. Immersive gameplay, even if you're just using a controller.

A wonderful sequel which greatly expands what the original set out to do. Plenty of things to discover, items to acquire and upgrade, an average story, and a somewhat abrupt ending. If you liked the first, you'll like this one more. SWD2 is what a sequel should be, with a longer lasting flavor.

Worth full price.

A game for the ages, Cuphead is a marvel of gameplay and animation excellence. Often described as "2D Dark Souls", Cuphead offers a challenging (but fair) adventure comprised of some Run N' Gun side-scrolling levels, but mostly intelligently designed boss battles. Every level and boss offers great variety, with nothing ever feeling too "samey." From giant, killer veggies to devious genies, Cuphead impresses.

There is no checkpoint system in this game. It expects you to go hard or go home. Thankfully, aside from being fair, each level/boss never seems to go on too long. If you die, the game will show you how far you got in the level, which can lead to addictive "I was so close, I gotta try again" behavior.

There's a currency system in place for you to purchase alternative weapons and supers with. One particular loadout may give you a little easier time on a certain boss than another. Coins are collected in side-scrolling levels, but there's also some hidden around the world map. There are trade-offs to most (if not all) purchasable items, however. For example, you can buy another health point, but your weapon damage is slightly decreased.

If you want a solid, challenging, addicitve, and stylish 2D game, Cuphead has you covered. So, what are you waiting for? A brawl is surely brewing!

Even if you don't like turn-based combat, this is a must-play, especially for RPG fans. If you find it too hard even on Normal (Classic), I suggest bumping it down to Easy (Explorer). I promise you'll still have fun. Much freedom of problem solving, combat options, and exploration. If you're concerned about playtime, don't be. At the time of this writing, I have reached 50 hours, and I'm still in Act 2, and continuing to find new things. Act 1 alone took 20 hours.

[This review will make no mention of the DRM controversy, sans this disclaimer. There's already been more than enough of that going around.]

I haven't even beat it yet, but I can safely say it's the best Sonic game to come along in years, and a sure GOTY contender. Every single level (new and familiar) is crafted beautifully, both in terms of design and graphics. The bosses are amazingly varied, and all fun to play against. The levels miiiiight be a little too big, but that only encourages multiple playthroughs to see everything. The music is also on-point, and extremely well done.

That's pretty much it. I mean, if you've played 2D Sonic, you know what you're getting into. Solid platforming with some nice speedy parts here and there. If you loved/liked those games, or Sonic games in general, this is an absolute MUST HAVE.

The greatest MP game of all time. It's basically like the disc game in the original Tron movie. Funky sounds, the best death scream ever, and the soundtrack of eerie silence. I played this game a lot, back in the day. Now I recommend it for current generations.

AHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

* DISCLAIMER: IGNORE THE THUMBS-UP, AND PRETEND IT'S A NEUTRAL RATING. *

I've been a TF player since TFC, and TF2 is a nice successor. I believe vanilla TF2 is still the best version. Not to say all the additons of hats and other items have ruined the game, but I feel that certain charm vanished long ago. It was also perfectly balanced. If you've played from the beginning, some new things were weird getting used to, but you deal with it, now. If you're a new player, there's a good chance you'll hate this game, at first. You'll see a giant mess in practically any server you choose. You'll see stray lasers, Soldiers parachuting around, a Demo spamming pill grenades, another Demo wildly swinging a sword and zooming around, a Heavy actually fighting, a Heavy doing nothing but crouching and throwing out sandwiches, a Spy walking around in a cardboard box, a newbie Sniper who doesn't understand you can't shoot through windows, just so much crap going on. You'll be confused. You'll be lost. You'll be unsure if you even want to keep playing.

If you get over all of that, and realize this is basically "Absolute Chaos: The Video Game", you'll be wondering how you acquire all those neat and fancy weapons that you do not have, and everyone else seems to have. Well, there are several ways of obtaining new weapons. First is being patient. Every now and then, the server will give you a random weapon after a death. Impatient? You can buy some through the in-game Mann Co. store with real money, or some can also be purchased through the Steam community marketplace for much cheaper. Before you go there, no, this actually isn't a Pay-to-Win game. I'll let you in on a secret. Ready?
- Stock weapons (the ones you start out with) are the best ones. -
Sure, there might be one or two that are direct upgrades, but honestly, you can still play just fine with nothing but stock loadouts. Most other weapons are gimmicks for you to mess around with for a few lives, then switch to something else. Don't let anyone tell you different. It's not an issue of enjoying using them, as I am not denying they can be fun, but for best results, roll stock.

If you like map variety, you're in luck. There are a ton of maps, official and fan-made. There's also a very nice selection of different game modes. Payload (attacking team pushes a bomb cart to certain points of the map, while defending team tries to hold them off until time runs out), Payload race (A cart for each team), Control Point (Tug-of-war of capping different points on the map in order), Capture the Flag (I mean, what is there to say? It's CTF, but instead of a flag, it's a briefcase), Arena (Basically Counter-Strike round rules), and some others which you can discover for yourself. Variety is not an issue.

I subscribe to the belief that this game got worse since it went F2P. Cheer or boo that notion all you want, but in my experience, the community is nowhere near what it used to be. Thanks to the F2P model, that obviously means anyone can play, which contributed to the influx of players that make me want to set myself on fire, and jump out a window. Granted, good F2P players exist, but my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god, the level of human garbage you can encounter is staggering. I'm not even talking about their skill level, but their personalities alone. Do you like completely unfunny text binds of memes being spammed? Yes? Welcome home. No? Prepare your sanity, or completely turn off the chat via the console. (Google it.) Go ahead and just mute every player when you enter a game, as well. These often occur in official Valve servers, but community ones can suffer the same. There are also good people, but you may have to sift through the dirt, first. Just be ready.

The game itself, if you don't mind the sheer chaos, can be a fun time. There are no iron-sights, grenades (sans the Demoman's grenade launcher), or ranks. So, if you're tired of online games that favor players who play more, give this one a try. Yeah, they'll still have more weapons than you, but none of them came at a certain time, and you can get them at any time. Also, remember, stock weapons are (mostly) king. Oh, you can craft weapons, too. Though that may also take time to get the one you want.

Like I said, my view on this game is pretty much 50/50. There are aspects that I enjoy, and others I loathe. Sometimes I have to take long breaks. Sometimes it's all I play in a day. It's weird. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird game.
