After spending more than 900 hours on Warhammer 2, it's a delight to play Warhammer 3 with all the new quality of life features and factions.

There is a prologue "campaign" in this game and it's excellent. It's a great introduction to Warhammer 3 from a lore perspective but also an excellent tutorial. This alone makes this game one of the best if not the best introduction to the Total War games for newcomers.

For the main campaign itself, it isn't perfect but is better than the one in Warhammer 2 in my opinion. At least this time, there is no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like 4-5 full stacks suddenly spawning in random areas of your territory. This time there are portals showing up in most regions and, if not closed with an army or a hero quickly enough they will spawn an army. The goal of the campaign is to use any portal to get a soul from each chaos realm. The realms are each unique and interesting and the battles to get the soul are very different from usual battles. While they are fun the first time, these battles are very long and can be tedious. Fortunately, CA understood that and made it possible to auto-resolve them.

Something I don't like about the chaos realms is that while your main army will be busy getting the soul, it will get some nasty debuffs. Thematically, it's great to simulate "chaos corruption" however the only way to get rid of them is to spend time in a capital or a settlement with a specific building to have a chance to remove each rank of the debuff. So your main army will either be in the chaos realms or sitting in a settlement to get rid of the debuff and will barely have time to do anything else. It's not such a big deal but it's a bit frustrating.

Surprisingly, expanding seems less interesting in Warhammer 3 because you don't earn a lot of money from settlements anymore and you won't have to worry about too many portals. Battles give a lot more money than before though so we are somewhat encouraged to keep fighting.

The game looks great and the soundtrack is very good.
Can't wait to see how the game will evolve especially when immortal empires will be added to include as playable every factions from Warhammer 1 and 2 into this game.
It has a solid base to become the ultimate Total War and Warhammer game.

Edit : it's now the best Total War and Warhammer fantasy game ever created in my opinion.
