i've been a fan of Quake since Quake 2 released. but it was Quake 3 Arena, and subsequently Quake Live that truly sunk its hooks into me. it has a very steep learning curve, but also a very rewarding one. the feeling you get when you master strafe-jumping and rocket-jumping and you're essentially flying around the maps at ludicrous speed... it's wonderful. for those who crave fast, kinetic, frenetic movement-based gameplay, Quake Live is a game i can't recommend enough.
