Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. This game is pretty fun.

Gameplay wise, the game just delivers. The game has 5 characters you can play as and each of them are unique and fun in their own way. I don't have much to say about this besides from some few gripes I have with some of the characters. I personally don't like Nero's toolkit in this game because I can't perform his back forward motion moves consistently and he relies too much on charge shot 3 to deal damage (which takes too long to charge) against bosses in higher difficulties. Besides that, he's a pretty fun character.

For the enemies, some of them are fine, some of them are combo sponges (which are great), and some of them are annoying. For example, the cutlasses at the beginning of Mission 6 are a really annoying bunch of enemies because there isn't much answers to quickly kill them other than Vergil's roundtrip and Nero's snatch. Other than that, Alto Angelos and Chimera Assaults are also annoying.

A few things I don't like about the game are the unnecessarily hard secret missions, the dice section, the two Sanctus boss fights and the boring level design. For the secret missions, they're really hard to the point that you have to use a super character to make them easier and have to read the wikipedia/watch youtube for a guide on how to solve them. There's no chance you can pass nonviolent resistance (secret mission 3) on a blind playthrough. For Sanctus, he's like one of the worst bosses in the whole series for me. The boss is annoying to beat because he just runs away from all your melee attacks and as Nero, you don't have much ranged options other than charge shot 3 which isn't effective against him. The missions in this game are also really repetitive and boring. Usually for me, I'd get bored with the missions in the game real quick and just open the game only for Bloody Palace. This makes NG+ feel like a huge chore to beat just to get the super costumes for each character. Thank god bloody palace is a thing.

Overall, this game is pretty fun. Just play on bloody palace and combo away without a care. I'll give this game a 7/10.
