This game really makes you FEEL like a mafia

TL;DR - Ok, it is not that I hate this game, but I just don't recommend it.
For what it is worth, I have fun playing, the customization is nice and the driving feels (for the most part) good. What I have the most issue with is the glitches, minor inconveniences to game breakers. At the time of posting this review, the game literally does not start despite my efforts to get it to do run beyond the title screen. There is also a rather large amount of questionable choices in regards to what you can just blow through and what will crash your vehicle. My last real complaint is the lack of police chases that were present in the first game, while it doesn't exactly fit the "story," it would have been nice to have been included for more incentive to explore and drive around.

Fortunately there is a lot I do like about the game. The car selection is very nice and while I am not the biggest fan of the boat/plane additions, I could see some enjoying the features thoroughly. I also like the Summit activities, which once a week update and always give me something to come back to (while it may be just recycling races from the base game). I also never have felt a need to resort to microtransactions.

In conclusion, I do like this game, after all, there is a reason I have dumped 150+ hours into it, but if you are on the fence, I can only recommend it on a decent sale. Otherwise, Steam offers some NFS games now that may better suit what you may be looking for. Cool game, but a bit lackluster.

If you liked the old one, you'll like this one, it's really that simple

Loved what i've seen so far. its not perfect, but it reminds me of skate with a bit of tony hawk thrown in for flavor. this game takes patience but it is easily the smoothest feeling skateboarding game i have ever played. cant wait to see what is in store as you can feel the passion behind this game.

Update: Still very fun, wish they were able to implement grabs and smoother transition in the 1.0 version. Still worth your money imo, only buy the DLCs if you really dump hours into the game (and of course want to support the dev team), otherwise the pc modding community can help diversify your maps
