Evil Spirits starts out rather enjoyable with its B-Movie style cut scenes, but unfortunately the numerous bugs and lack of a tutorial make it difficult for most players to get past the first level or two. Although the game uses many prefab Unity assets I found it to actually be rather well made - especially by just a 2 person development team. The 12 levels progress the story, while keeping the game challenging and interesting with plenty of short cut scenes. It also has a distinguishable feature of a hunger and thirst meter that depletes over time, turning the player into some sort of vampire cannibal where they must keep moving forward to take out the next group of enemies who will drop meat and vodka to reset the meters.

Tips: In the first level, be sure to travel to each checkpoint on the radar – going out of order will break that level. On the second level, ignore the radar checkpoint at the boat and just head over to the cave on the other side of the beach.
Only save at the beginning of a level as it only seems to store the player’s location and nothing else – so when reloading all of the enemies will be re-spawned and you won’t have the weapons and ammo.

I’m on the fence about recommending it. It’s a fairly entertaining game with around 2 hours of content. If it weren’t for the bugs I would say it’s appropriately priced at $3, however the bugs make it almost unplayable so if you can get it for a decent discount and willing to work past the bugs then it might be worth a look.
